What he said is true, people who really like Western RPG are not going to go for the PS3
As well as the PS2 sold well in the last gen (100 mil), it was still pale when compared to the PC gaming market (estimated by various source to be at 400+ mil back in mid-2000s.)
A significant segment of gamers who stayed on PC were Western RPG fans, and now they are finally leaving PC behind and migrating to console. 400 mil is a huge number. And when they migrate, they are going to pick the platform that offers the type of game they like to play: Western RPG.
Does the PS3 has any (exclusive) Western RPG to offer them? Sure, it has Oblivion, but that's on Xbox 360 as well. If I really like Western RPG, and I want a platform that gives me the best and most Western RPGs, and I'm only buying one console, guess which one (360 or PS3) did I buy?
Well, the PS2 might have sold 100 mil - but not to Western RPG fans, which I'm sure are numbered in the millions. It's not about how many consoles PS3 have sold, it's about how many more consoles PS2 could have sold but did not because it does not have Western RPGs.
