RPG Games on Xbox 360: Given low priority by popular gaming sites/media?
847 days 1 hour ago | by: Rowland

Whilst it is fairly easy to obtain initial announcements & broad release schedules for upcoming Xbox 360 RPG games it is virtually impossible to find any in-depth information or remotely accurate release dates on many

of the popular gaming sites.

For example, Two Worlds, highly anticipated at the time for it's Oblivionesque potential, was in developement for nearly 3 years then scheduled for UK & US release 4 months before actual release, but hardly featured on front pages or 'coming soon' sections, while games such as Assassins Creed/Viva Pinata which didn't even have preliminary release dates in the same period, were given exposure.

Quality RPG's (Oblivion/Mass Effect) take much longer, are more complex to design, craft, produce, test & edit than any other game genre let alone most other entertainment and art forms, plus the experience duration and the quality (value for money) is far greater, all of which creates huge customer/fan anticipation. Gaming in general is a multi million £/$  business so it's very strange that the modern RPG doesn't command more media attention.

Top marks & a big thank you to N4G & it's community, where better information & the bigger picture is readily available & accessible.
