Time & CNN: The Best Inventions of the Year

Time in partnership with CNN are running a special feature for "the Best Inventions of the Year", and name iPhone as the "Invention of the Year".

The lesser "Video Game Systems" category has three awards for:
• "Fancy", which goes to Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special Edition
• "Cheap", goes to Nintendo DS
• "Something Different", goes to Nintendo Wii

iPhone is no invention. iPhone is innovation. Same with just about everything else on that list, including game consoles.

I swear, 'invention' is getting thrown around a lot these days. There is very little else in the world to be invented (that we can think of), only endless innovations.

iPhone... Go to Europe or Japan and you'll find phones that make the iPhone look like that old honkin 80's walkie-talkie lookin cell phone.

The Elite looks better than the Halo 3 360. There's nothing "fancy" about it. The controllers in that pic don't even come with it.
