Gearbox: "We're Working Hard" on Aliens

Gearbox Software has given a rare update on the status of Aliens: Colonial Marines, assuring fans that the shooter is still in development and promising "great things afoot".

Speaking in an interview with CVG, Gearbox supremo Randy Pitchford revealed that even he is finding it challenging to remain patient for the shooter.

"I know that there hasn't been much talk about what we're doing for awhile and that more details would be very juicy. Like so many people, I've been patient for years to finally be able to play this game and now that I'm actually involved in the creation of it I can tell you that it's extremely challenging to continue to be patient as it develops," he said.

AvP 2 was also a very good game, and is one of my favorite multiplayer game. The're are still quite alot of people playing.

I really hope this game is going to be worth the wait, the Aliens licence has so much potential.

Somehow though the massive delays and lack of regular info from the devs makes me think otherwise.

Fingers crossed but i'm certainly not gonna hold my breath on this one....

if that is indeed true then i'm very happy, a game should never be announced until either it is completed and 6 months from shipping as it will save much dissapointment when games are cancelled ala aliens rpg

afterall gearbox also did hlf-life: blue-shift, opposing force, condition zero as well as the PC port of halo CE and console ports of the half-life series.

And borderlands is looking sweet.

Let this game have some depth, and have it's own magic. Gearbox has worked on enough FPS games to do the IP's justice. I'm just on the fence a bit because there are very few games that are good, and this is AvP is one of those properties that should be a dominant force in gaming. It has all the elements like a Halo, Half-life, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, etc.

Good i was worried that it was canceld. Hope the game has the atmosphere of aliens and is in depth like Kingslayer said. Looks like its good generation for aliens :D

Instead, Hudson and Vasquez buy it. In retrospect, they went out cool. Was kinda hoping Newt was gonna get the face hugger treatment just to keep her from belting out another glass shattering scream. 'Shhh!! You're gonna blow our cover dummy!'
