1 - Great bang for the buck!
The sound quality is fantastic. I highly recommend investing the $139.99 for this part.

Yeah, I've got one too hooked up to my 5.1 system via optical.

Sounds really great, I had a bit of trouble getting it into my Lexa Blackline case though. (Stupid no-tool holder)

Unfortunately tool-less cases often make it harder if you have many cards connected to your motherboard in my experience. Instead of making life easier in some ways it just make things more difficult. I prefer just using standard screws.

I haven't touched a sound card since the days when Voodoo graphics cards were on top. Pretty much everything I play sounds fine with the onboard audio, but then again, I've never really been an audiophile.

I think onboard audio has gotten better over time. There is something special though about using the CMSS-3D, Crystalizer, and Bass Boost features with this card. It certainly makes the games much more immersive in my opinion.
