Microsoft, Here's The Top 17 Ways To Screw Up Windows 7

Windows Vista was a right step towards screwing up Microsoft customers. But why stop there? Why not take Windows 7 a step further and make it even more annoying? If Microsoft is wondering how to mess up the next Windows OS, look no farther than this article.

1.2 - Yes but....
Let's face it. Microsoft is going to screw up again. And don't start it, everyone knows XP performs better than Vista without a doubt.

1.3 - Really.
If Vista is so superior to XP, why are we even talking about Windows 7 already?
Why would we even wonder what's going to replace Vista if we're all so happy with it?

It's so bad that the only way MS can get people to "adopt" Vista is by forcing retailers to take XP off the shelves. Suuure. Vista is good. Whatever.

Don't actually have an actual intellectual argument against the article, just make stupid immature comments like "noob" to prove your thoughtless point. How about you post when you've finally get your GED in the mail.

"Not sure why noobs are still criticizing Vista."

"It's superior to XP in every way"

Apart from it took ages for SP1 to come out to support 2GB of RAM.

"and it accomplished this in just under one year while it took XP several years to get to this point when compared with Win2k. "

Well this comment really is stupid. Didn't it cross you're tiny little mind that after getting the feature into XP they already knew how to do it for Vista and hence this quick time for them? No?

"This is the typical noob rant we saw in 2007 but now applied to Windows 7."

So why is it they're making a new OS for? Surely with Vista being as perfect as you've said it is that they'll be no reason to make another?

2 - Vista...
Vista is dead. Even though MS made lots of money in sales - it is dead. Coporates won't touch it. And the new Windows version is too close - so they will just skip Vista. XP is good. It works for corporates, and the installed base is too big to ignore. Same for the Office package. Many skip one generation. Office 97 was so good, that many skipped Office 2000. Some will skip Office 2003 and Offcie XP, and only jump to Office 2007. Vista was good - but in terms of timing, it is squeezed in between a very popular and stable OS, and the next one only a year or two away.

2.1 - MAc sucks big time but....
Only in the case of gaming. Otherwise, Macs excel, such as in digital photography.

4 - The author should do his research first.
I wouldnt normally post but the author should do his research first.
i.e. 3. Rip off the Mac OS and Steve Jobs
"Apple’s Time Machine on windows"
"but why does every “new” Windows feature appears in the Mac first and then a dumbed-down version gets ported to the Windows world?"
Microsoft's Volume Shadow Copy has been around for years, ok maybe a non tech-head didnt know where it was but facts are more important than fanboy bias. Apple's make excellent UI designed products 'Dave' accessable. (final Cut pro rules imo)
Microsoft make better business tools SQL, SQL Reporting ,(Office, Sharepoint, Great Planes)FInancial), Dynamics (supply chain, financial management, CRM) and development tools (Visual Studio)
They are apples and pears - different markets with a bit of cross over in the home user market.
Everthing is a copy of a copy, inventions and evolution goes in steps by improvement.

6 - mac
just get macs in the future simple as. they maybe a bit more expensive but they are a lot faster and reliable than vista and xp put together. ive had a mac for three months now and it hasn't froze once unlike vista and xp where i had to either completely shut down or hope ctrl alt and delete work.

i know gaming isnt as fun on a mac but i dont play pc games coz they are geeky. but if more gamers actually bought macs game companies would add mac support or you could just use crossover.

So lets see then. I buy a MAC which is alot more money here in the UK than I can get a good PC for. The I also am paying for the mac OS (which I admit is very nice) and then of course I still need to dual boot windows on it as I use alot of things that are only on windows so thats costing me also. Or I could keep with a PC which is less expensive and yes comes with windows which yes costs and which yes has its problems but I also can put Linux on it for FREE which is very stable. So which is the best option? Well if I was into DTP or movie making and editing then yes maybe the extra cost for an Apple but im not so looks like a PC for me :) Macs are nice but not for everyone especially when money is an object!

>>they messed up Vista like they did the 360
Sorry to dissappoint you - but its just stupid fanboyism.(yes I have all 3 consoles and own a mac, PC's, and host Linux servers). I play for games not for the plastic box they run on.

xbox as 19 million worldwide sales,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
With top quality games like GoW, Halo, GTA4 plus XNA (abilty for homecoders to write games for the console which in turn helps the industy long term.)
I dont think they honestly messed up the 360. Microsoft had the first half but maybe sony will have the second. 360 and Ps3(drakes, heavenly sword, MGS) both have good games but sony is playing catch up on features - especially when they announce years in advance and dont release on time again and again.(home, ingames messaging)

Sony will prolly win long term due to blueray but to dismiss xbox 360 as messed up is just plain dumb.

8 - if you like macs dont play and think PC games are geeky, why be on a gamer site
>>i know gaming isnt as fun on a mac but i dont play pc games coz they are geeky. but if more gamers actually bought macs game companies would add mac support or you could just use crossover.

So why post that on a gaming site? why post a non gamer post on a gaming site.

Because gamers like PC's, (starcraft anyone?) Developers can write games on a pc pretty cheaply( I know I worked on a view myself and its a cheap dev environment compared with the rest). Coders dont start on a console dev kit. They cut their teeth on a PC scene then move to consoles. The dev environment on a mac is pretty crap compared to PC. Macs dont cut it in big business (what database?? ) (for all the reasons I mentioned above. And they dont cut it for games except 'PORTS' of existing PC games.

I use my PC for Dev stuff, business, and games. it rules for that
I use my mac for photoshop, quark, final cut pro. it rules for that
And I play games depending on the game not the console. Hell bomberman still rocks years on.
Try and stop being narrowminded and focus on the games or the apps, not some kind of brand loyalty.

Great 2 posts there nosmok and bubbles for you. Agree with everything you have said and nice to see someone speaking with some sense! Trouble is people have these stupid little loyalties to these companies instead of giving credit where credit is due! I mean Macs are basically PCs hardware wise its only the software that sets them apart! I kinda wished Apple would enable Mac OSX to run on a PC because here in the UK Apple Hardware is alot more money than I can get a PC for. So I run a PC with windows and Linux on it. All hardware as their own killer apps which nosmok pointed out!

11 - Yes, I definitely am...
I don't want to take sides, or appear fanboyish (I hate that word), but search in Google for Vista vs XP performance comparison and you'll see what I say. And just for your viewing pleasures, check out the links below:

FYI, Vista might be slower but I've been using Vista from Day 1 for it's DirectX10 support. And nothing can bring down two Radeon HD 3870 X2s in CrossFire.
