Now people, this is a reasonable price to buy a BR player. I've hated the $200+ price before, this is now a perfect Christmas present.

Though I still have a negative disposition due to the thousands of asshole PS3 fanboys worshipping it like it's their religion. I hate you all and I want to drive a nail through your eyes with my thumb. This is partially also why I don't want or like the PS3, that and the ridiculous price for a machine that doesn't make the 360 look like roadkill on a highway, way to ruin reputation N4G and fans.

So basically, I still f*cking hate Blu-ray and it's fans, but still getting one for my girlfriend and I for Christmas.

Another big reason why I didn't buy into the Blu-ray and PS3 thing is the overhyped features and graphics of both. None of them make a big enough difference to warrant the extra $80+ (could be $170 in the PS3s case).

I kind of take that back, Blu-ray makes a difference, PS3 doesn't. I still wouldn't buy them based on hype when they cost significantly more. I'm getting the Blu-ray player on Christmas, if it doesn't live up to the hype, some people are going to die for misleading me. :P

It's marginally more expensive because it has marginally more features. (not just blu-ray, other features & benefits as well)

You're entitled to your own opinion, but that doesn't make it right.

The PS3 is one of the best blu-ray players (if not the best) because it can always update it's firmware to the latest standard(s).

Also, since the vast majority of PS3's are connected to the interwebs, it'll update when the latest upgrade is available.

Having said that... yeah, if you don't have a PS3 and only have a X360, then picking one of these up would make a great deal of sense.

Just about 4 months ago, PS3 got DTS HD-MA decoding on the PS3, making it one of the Best systems to watch a blu-ray movie in thanks to its superb audio and Video. It is also one of the first Boxes to support BD live(Profile 2.0, aka the final for Blu-ray Movies) right out of the box. It also supports Profile 3.0, for those who want to listen to High Quality Audio on BLu-ray.

Im still waiting for people to talk about how Netflix has superior Video Streaming to BLu-ray, that way they can get ripped by everyone on this site.

If you are a gamer and love to watch movies, do yourself a favor and get a PS3, it doesnt hurt to have both consoles next to each other.

IF you are not a gamer but loves movies, then get the Blu-ray player.
