Competition is good for the industry imo

Profchaos350d ago

Say that to the hundreds of mmorpgs that are dead and burried because they chose to compete with wow since 2005

FF XIV seems to be doing just fine. But then again, they have an actual compelling story and the best soundtrack of any MMO. I played WoW for over 12 years and could not make heads or tails of the story after a while. It was like trying to keep up with Mortal Kombat lore, lol.

It's a shame they cancelled EverQuest Next. I was really looking forward to that game even though I usually hate MMOs.

The only thing it's gonna kill is itself.

senorfartcushion350d ago

Why do most MMOs look like Warcraft? Do something else.

FinalFantasyFanatic349d ago

This, there are other art styles, if I saw this game in passing, I would just assume that it's WOW, standing out with a unique art style is generally a plus for a new game.

LightofDarkness350d ago

Yes, just like all those games between 2008 and 2012 that replaced WoW. Oh, wait…

DeathTouch350d ago

Not in 2012, but nowadays… Depends on what you are talking about. Player base? Yes, it is already not the number one anymore. Therefore, replaced. Quality? Yes, there are already much better looking and fluid MMO’s in the market. Therefore, replaced. I’m sure I’m missing sum’.

gleepot349d ago

You are wrong on all counts.

Profchaos350d ago

I'd say even earlier to later so many games tried to go at wow directly appealing to the more hardcore crowd and failing every time
