It appears that Dragon's Dogma 2 has done very well for Capcom, with it being the biggest game launch in the UK this year so far.

With micros they banked it.

Yep once again voted with our wallets we have said we love single player games with kernal drm made with microtransaction in mind along side crap optimization popups in our face like npcs and we love seeing 0 major innovation from a ps3 game #1 to a ps5 game #2.

For sure we are going back to episode based games but this time with 2 account login pages 24/7 internet double the mt's and $20 every 2-3hrs of gameplay sense that is the next step.

When it goes off like that, I'll either go indy or just play Post-by-Post RPGs on forums.

Narrowly ahead of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? Well Rebirth is a PS5 exclusive. Dragon's Dogma 2 isn't and sells on multiple platforms. So well done to Rebirth for doing so well. That's what I get from this announcment.

Juancho5128d ago

Absolutely true. Rebirth is a masterpiece.

MrBaskerville28d ago

Dragons Dogma 2 is also a masterpiece. So wr are eating good these days!

andy8528d ago

It does look good. Thankfully for once I'm nowhere near done with my games so when I am I should be able to play a better version of it

PapaBop28d ago

GOTY so far for me... if not game of the generation. Those last two hours were just pure epicness that I'm still recovering from, such an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Obscure_Observer28d ago

Rebirth exclusive to PS5 was beaten by Unicorn Overload in Japan and now by Dragon´s Dogma in Uk.

Rebirth was supposed to be the biggest game release this year, but it falls in comparison to its predecessor.

TheColbertinator28d ago

Yeah you're right. Sony is doomed.

VersusDMC28d ago

Rebirth launched with 260k only on PS5 and Unicorn Overlord lauched with 74k on 3 platforms.

Rebirth is 305k total and UOverlord is 120k total this week.

How was rebirth beaten by Uoverlord in Japan? Why not just say Rebirth didn't sell as much as Remake in japan instead of also adding some snakey fake news on top of it?

Hofstaderman28d ago

Your salt just gave me high blood pressure

Shiro17328d ago

Lmao rebirth literally only on one console compare to the other 2 and by far my game of the generation. Dragons dogma 2 is fun but the story ain't there.

VersusDMC27d ago

I would be salty too if i was an xbox fan and xbox was releasing more games on PS5 than Xbox so far this year...🤣

TheKingKratos27d ago

Honest to god, tell me why you are like this ?! What with your obsession with Sony and wanting to fail this bad and why are you even following Microsoft this religiously?!

Hofstaderman27d ago

Jim, Shawn and Ken had relations with his mom. He witnessed it.

isnt dragons dogma a multiplat ?

well done to rebirth then ha

DD2 is at the same time, an excellent game, but also a flawed and in some areas, poorly balanced game. Aside from graphics, it also does not really feel like a step forward in terms of combat, which i was the most surprised by.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a great game, but only if you take your time

Alex writes: "I have a habit of trying to rush through games, so Dragon's Dogma 2 was a nice reminder that taking it slow isn't the end of the world."

Review - Dragon's Dogma 2 (Xbox Series X) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Jordan Hawes: "Dragon’s Dogma 2 is exactly what I wanted; an updated sequel that still hold true to what made the first game so beloved. While it may not be perfect with its lack luster visuals and performance, it more than makes up for in deep gameplay and addicting exploration. The Pawn system still remains one of the coolest party systems in an RPG, and I love the dynamic feel of them. This is absolutely a game of the year contender and may be my personal game of the year already."
