Don't expect one to show up on Xbox Live or PSN, though.

"We aren't doing a demo," Vigil Games general manager David Adams told VG247. "We didn't have the time our resources to prepare one – finishing the game came right down to the wire."

The winner of Destructoid Game of the Year 2009

Destructoid writes:

"Some people seem to complain that this was a rough year for videogames when compared to the glory of 2007 and the not-as-glorious, but still pretty impressive, 2008. To that, I say, "Fiddlesticks!" Sure, some of the huge releases of the year were pushed back to 2010, but that doesn't mean there weren't a ton of great games to play in 2009! Fiddlesticks to all of you naysayers out there! FIDDLESTICKS!

Just look at our list of nominees for Destructoid Game of the Year 2009 (and the runner-ups!). They are all pretty gosh-darned great videogames! All last week we revealed the five nominees, and now it's time to reveal the winner. I know most of you lost sleep all weekend waiting for this historic moment, but it's finally here."

GameSpot: Uncharted 2 Wins Best Graphics, Technical Award of 2009

The market is littered with games that look good in some ways but falter in others. Uncharted 2 is one of the few games that you virtually cannot find fault with in terms of graphics, no matter how much you nitpick. It looks stunning in both screenshots and videos. You'll be just as impressed by the massive views of Nepal as you will by the most subtle of facial animations. At one point it even feels like the world is going to end as you fight for your life inside a collapsing building--and the frame rate stubbornly refuses to drop.

GameSpot: Killzone 2 Wins Most Improved Sequel Award

If the core of a first-person shooter comes down to how fun it is to shoot, then Killzone 2 was already a shoo-in for this category. While the original Killzone's weapons were limp and unsatisfying, Killzone 2's are weighty, effective, and an absolute blast to shoot. Yet the improvements go far beyond the enhanced arsenal. Killzone's artificial intelligence was remarkably inept, but Killzone 2 exhibits some of the year's finest AI, another reason the action is so much more satisfying. And while its predecessor suffered from a variety of technical issues that marred its otherwise strong presentation, Killzone 2 is a technical marvel, stunning to both look at and listen to.

GameSpot: inFamous Wins Best Original IP of 2009

inFamous, free of the shackles that an established brand often carries, was able to deliver a thoroughly compelling adventure without having to compromise any of its ideas to fit some preestablished identity. Playing as Cole MacGrath, you follow his transformation from everyman into anything-but as the game progresses, and you dictate his fate by the choices you make. It's this unique take that makes inFamous stand out. Your reactions to people in peril change how the world perceives and responds to you.

Killzone 2 Dev Comments on Future of Game Development

Split-Screen: "Jan-Bart van Beek is no stranger to perfection. Especially when he was behind the painstakingly nuanced environments of Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 for the PS3. There's certainly an interesting past to his involvement – he played a key role in the notorious E3 2005 'target render' trailer of KZ 2 – and he commented not too long ago on the direction he believes gaming technology will take in the next 10 years."

GameSpot: Killzone 2 Wins Best Competitive Multiplayer Game of 2009

When you first dive into Killzone 2's competitive warzone, you don't have much in the way of options. Limited weapons, ammo, and grenades make you feel like a new recruit, and the battlefield can be a deadly place. Gloomy lighting, thick smoke, and harsh industrial environments create an oppressive atmosphere, and the sound of battle often grows to a cacophony that few other shooters can match.

Christian Group Seeks to Ban Modern Warfare 2

Maine's Christian Civic League is calling for a ban on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. "The public has been dangerously desensitized to violence," the group writes. "Many find a thrill in participating in violent video games." They continue to say the game goes too far, "even in our own desensitized age." Of course, the notorious "No Russian" level is most offensive, according to the group.

GameTrailers: GOTY Awards 2009: Best New IP

Who created the best new Intellectual Property in gaming this year?

BioShock 2: First 5 minutes

See the first five minutes from 2k Marin's BioShock 2 - only minimal spoilers ahead.

For translation, follow http://bit.ly/BS2eng

MAG is Gold, Beta for Everyone Soon

On behalf of everyone at Zipper Interactive, I'm proud to announce that following our successful series of beta programs this past fall, our 256-player first-person shooting spectacular, MAG, has gone gold in North America, Japan, Korea, and the rest of Asia. You may have an opinion on this! That's great. So do BioWare.

With Mass Effect and Dragon Age both leading the way as far as Western RPGs are concerned, they're a company well-placed to know what's good, and what's not so good, about the Japanese entries in the field.

New Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Image

A new image from Shonen Jump Magazine reveals Naruto using Rasenshuriken and Sasuke countering with Kirin in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.

Final Fantasy XIII Nears 2 Million Sales Mark

PCWorld: Square Enix's roleplaying spectacle-spinner Final Fantasy XIII sold over 1.5 million units in its first four days on store shelves, reports Japanese tracker Enterbrain. Not bad at all, considering the game's only available for the PlayStation 3 in Japan (the English-language version for both PS3 and Xbox 360 doesn't ship until next March). Square Enix president Yoichi Wada revealed the company has already shipped 1.8 million copies, and expressed hope sales would reach the 2 million mark shortly.

Some perspective: Sony's Japanese PS3 install base stands at around 4 million units. Plug the 1.5 million figure in and you get 38 percent of that base holding a copy of Final Fantasy XIII. What's more, if Wada's forecast is accurate, we'll see that number soar to roughly half of all Japanese PS3 owners in the coming weeks.

GamesRelay - Has CAPCOM's Resident Evil series lost its way?

It was back in 1996 when the first Resident Evil game graced our presence, sure there had been horror games before it, but none quite struck a cord like the original Resident Evil did.

Crysis 2: "A mind-blowing new direction" means new Setting?

New setting for Crysis 2?
