XB360 and PS3 owner get SC4. Wii owners get this crap.
I never thought the day would come when I played a bad Soul Calibur game. I always thought that that was like a myth or a drunken slur if you will. Well, the day has come. And of course, it's on the Wii, with Soulcalibur Legends. Namco's excuse for a "Wii solution to SC4".

Storyline
Soulcalibur Legends takes place between SC1 and SC2. The main hero, Siegfried, comes upon Soul Edge, the Cursed Sword. At the same time, the Ottoman Empire and the Vienna Empire are at war while trying to find Soul Edge. Then Barbaros of the Ottoman Empire gets Soul Calibur, the Spirit Sword and tries to defeat the Vienna Empire. Then the Masked Emperor of the Vienna Empire finds Siegfried with Soul Edge and makes him go against Barbaros and get Soul Calibur for them. The storyline is drawn out terribly. Making you think "hooray! I'm finally done with this crap!" And then there's a plot twist and you think "oh, man! How much longer!?"

Gameplay
How do you make a great spinoff out of one of the best fighting games of all time? Simple: Turn it into a crappy hack n' slash in which you will be running through the same 10 areas with the same 7 characters (but Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia is among them. Nice fan service) while randomly shaking your Wii remote to kill the same enemies and breaking the same barrels and vases for the same 3 items over and over again according to Namco. You even fight the same bosses from time to time! This is what Soulcalibur Legends is all about in a nutshell. and the motion detection is nothing short of horrendous. If you reach a puzzle (puzzles are also repeated constantly throughout the game) that requires a horizontal slash and you swing the Wii Remote to do said Horizontal Slash, then your character will be doing a Thrust attack. You can keep swinging the Wii Remote all you want, but they will do every other attack in the book except the one you need. The game only continues to fall apart from there with dumb-as-Jack Thompson enemies and a total lack of most characters from the Soul Calibur universe (Voldo? Cassandra? Nope). Let me make it as simplified as this game. The gameplay sucks.

Graphics/Sounds
I would have to say that the graphics and Sound are about equal to Soul Calibur 2 and 3. It won't blow you away, but it's not terrible either. The main problem is that since you go through the same levels over and over and over again, you hear the same BGM over and over and over again.

Overall
This game is about as bad as they come. It's terribly repetitive, there's very little to the gameplay, and the game would've done better as a fighting game (like I thought it was when I rented it. Boy, was I in for a treat *sarcasm*). The bottom line: Soul Calibur fans will have to wait for SC4. And people who only have a Wii should probably just cry.

Rating Comments
7.8 Graphics
They're decent, but not necessarily amazing.
6.9 Sound
Decent soundwork but the music gets terribly repetitive.
4.5 Gameplay
It's repetitive, annoying, and boring. You know how people say it should've been a side mode? Not even worth that.
3.5 Fun Factor
It's near impossible to have fun with this game. Do not waste money on this game. I beg you!
