When I first got Exite Truck, I didn't like it at all. It's a game that launched with the Wii. Exite Truck is a sort of racing game mixed with monster truck games. It's a pretty basic game. You race while getting points for performing stunts and smashing up your rivals. You get a finishing position bonus and if you have enough points, then you go to the next level. Interestingly enough, I started to like it after a little while.
It's true, Exite Truck is as simple as it sounds. But it still contains a decent amount of content. 19 Trucks to choose from (you start with 3 and unlock the rest), 12 colors, and an unlockable alternate paint job for your truck, you get to customize your vehicle mildly. There are also 20 tracks to choose from, and awards you can earn(very well done track design by the way).
The graphics also stand out quite nicely. The Trucks are very detailed and, while the environment is a little blurry up close, it still holds up pretty well. Unfortunately, the music could have been better. While I like the heavy metal tracks, they're fairly low quality. You just might be tempted to turn the music off after a while
Even though this was the Wii's first racing game, the controls are good, too. They're pretty basic and easy to catch on too, and while the motion steering feels over-sensitive at first, you do get used to it after about 3-5 races.
Overall, Excite Truck is a pretty sweet deal. At the very least you get to destroy your opponents' trucks. And I would love to see a sequel :)
