Stop and smell the flowers..
Let me start off by saying WOW.Just wow.
This "game" which is more of an experience is by far the most beautiful thing i have ever played. But i'll get more into that as we go along..
Sound:
Sound.Is.Amazing.Everything from the sound of the wind blowing through the grass as you speed through it.To the calm, relaxing melodies that play throughout.
Sometimes the music is dark..scary..Other times it's empowering.Strong.
It fits the mood of the current level perfectly.
And a neat little touch is that ever flower you touch makes it's own single note.So if you get them really quickly or gracefully hover through them it all adds to the music in a different way.
Graphics:
By far the most impressive graphics i've seen on a PSN game.
Sometimes i had to just stop and stare in awe at the beauty of what was happening around me..
The sunset's give off a cheerful warm glow, the rain pouring from the sky sets the mood for experience that lies ahead..
There's so much to say..but i don't want to spoil some of the levels.
Bottom line.It looks amazing.
Gameplay:
It's pretty straight forward gameplay. You start the game with a single flower petal from one blooming flower, while controlling it with the SixAxis you move up,down, left, right.Simple no? You can press any button to blow the wind behind you giving you that burst of speed you'll need.
(I find it easy to just use the X button)
This is where the real beauty of flower comes in.At the start of each level it's always dull..lifeless..depressing..
As you collect petals and more importantly, specific groups of petals,Nature blooms once more and you really feel as if your changing the world with your every action. The first 2-3 levels are pretty easy.
They give you a basic feel for how the game works and what to do.
By the end of the 2nd level you will be using that SixAxis like a Warhawk pro!
It's when the fourth level starts that things get..Well..i'm kind of speechless really. But the difference is night & day *Wink* :)
On the fifth level things start to get quite emotional.Dark..even frightening.
I've seen a few interviews and reviews where people would say the game is an emotional experience..i didn't really see how collection flower petals could contribute to that..But ohhh boy..was i wrong..
I don't really know how to explain it..But in my opinion there is a story to this "game" i guess it's all up to the player.
But i felt it was a story of Good vs Evil.Nature vs Humanity's pollution.
And by god the sixth level was incredible. You feel like mother nature with all her power going on a rampage and nothing can stop you.
The ending had me on my feet and cheering!
Bottom line is..if you were on the fence about buying this game.
Please,please..just get it.It will be so much more then you expected.
