Alright i bought my copy 2 days ago. I bought it instead of rent it because i never liked to rent, that's it. After seeing all the bad comments about that game, and few good scores (like 9/10, etc.) i was really wondering if that game deserved all the hate. It's the second exclusive FPS for the PS3, which is a good thing to add more options to the costumers.
Campaign mode:
Ok first i can't tell you about the coop mode, i played the solo mode alone. It would probably be alot more interesting to play with friends, but anyway, too late. You begin as a Mantel Soldier. Those soldiers are kinda cool to play with. The nectar system is actually very cool; it's some kind of drug which add more strengh, more accuracy, speed, etc. I won't explain all the story, would be kinda long and i don't want to give spoilers. Near the middle of the campaign, you're no more in the Mantel. I don't tell you why, spoilers again. I was kinda disapointed to lose the nectar and the armor. Too bad, no more fun. You'll probably finish the campaign mode in 8 hours max. It seems pretty short, yes it is, but all FPS are these days, too bad..
Multiplayer:
Good thing, there's a multiplayer mode, plus it's fun. No lag, you can play as a Mantel soldier or their enemies. Few good maps, vehicules, and a ranking system. The online is actually saving HAZE's face. It's not as good as COD4, but it's doing the job.
Musics:
The musics are actually good. Even the opening screen's music is great. Sounds are good too. Thumbs up here.
Graphics:
Ok, here's a problem. I would say the graphics are not next-gen at all. The screenshots we saw on the net was pretty good, but not on our TVs (even with my 40' LCD Full-HD screen). I almost tought i was playing with my PS2...
Fun factor:
I think the fun factor is good. Even with alot of bad points, you'll have fun. The scenario is ok, you'll get in the story very fast. The nectar system is pretty fun, the guns are cool (even if there's not alot of choice) and the multiplayer will give you more hours to play.
Conclusion:
They should have delayed it again, for another year, to work on the graphics and the AIs. It's not as bad as the other reviews tell you, believe me on that, but it's kinda disappointing. I think Free Radical failed here.
