GH3: Legends Of Rock mini review
To be honest, i barely know anything about this game till my friend told me about Guitar Hero 2 on the Xbox 360 version. Even then i never try to play the game. And when the third outing for the PS3 version released, my friend once again told me to go grab it and assured me that i won't regret getting it. The game didn't come cheap but it is acceptable since its bundled with a black wireless Les Paul replica guitar, a USB dongle, an adjustable neck strap, two AAA batteries, and two sticker sheets.

Now setting the wireless guitar on the PS3 is basically the same as other USB devices, plug and play. When you plugged in the dongle to the PS3 USB port the light on it will blink, indicate it searching for devices, and you have to press the PS button on the wireless guitar for it to be recognized by the dongle. Once it recognized the light will stop blinking and turn steady, means the guitar has been paired with the dongle properly and you can start playing with it.

The game itself has a steeped learning curve if you never play any of this kind of game. In my case, i found it really hard pressing the buttons, but i managed to get used to it. If i may suggest for begginers, play the easy mode first than gradually moving on to medium and finally to the expert mode. As for myself, i'm quite comfortable with the medium difficulty now.

About the gameplay, basically you just press whatever buttons on your wireless guitar that comes out on the tv screen. Each buttons represented by colors, Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Orange. The easy mode only use 3 buttons, making it perfect for beginners to practice. While on medium, you start using 4 buttons. The hard and expert mode is beyond my skill since using all the 5 buttons, and you have to slide your fingers more often to press the buttons.

All the difficulties aside, this game is a lot of fun to play. Especially when Activision actually pays some royalties to get all the songs to be included in the game. So you can expect rocking out "Paint It Black" and hear Mick Jagger actually sings it while you're soloing the guitar parts. Another bonus, the game gives you the privilege to play with some rock legends such as Tom Morello, Slash and Poison's Bret Michaels, they appear as in game characters.

In addition there is a guitar hero community site for you to keep in track of your performances, on the PS3 version your stats will be automatically updated every time you play while connected to the internet once you linked your PSN ID to the site. I think it goes the same with other consoles version.

- The online is great (no lags whatsoever) but its really annoying that the game doesnt support online chat or integrating in game xmb friends list, so i usually create a room and called up my friends and waiting for them to join to play co-ops or doing a guitar battle which is not practical
Ups
Great songs
Unique gameplay
Free DLC (Dropkick Murphys rawks!)
Downs
Steep learning curve
No online chat + in game XMB friends list (unacceptable)
Expert mode = Steve Vai on steroids

1 - You're getting better
There's still some errors, but this review is much better than some of your others. U should go back and edit those, they might still have a chance.
