Not so hidden treasure
Uncharted is more than a great game, it is also a great movie (just watch the cutscenes). There is plenty of exploration, action and adventure. The exploration is not an important part of the game per se as the levels are pretty linear, but there is a treasure hunting aspect of the game that helps achieve bonus points which in turn opens up extra features.

The game play itself is excellent. You hardly ever get stuck because of the controlls, the camera never gets in the way, and the framerate never noticably drops. The action is fast and furious with dozens of enemies coming at in waves all at once. The enemies themselves are usually pretty smart. They use hand granades to try a flush you while flanking you from all sides. The only time they show their true stupidity is when you and your partner Elena are fighting together. Sometimes Elena distracts them and they seem to completely forget about you to the point of running towards you while looking right her allowing you tag an easy kill.

The graphis are amazing. Don't think so? Just go look at the expansive lakes and oceans in and around the island. Most realistic water i have ever seen in any game period. The only time that realism actually falters (IMO) is when you are walking through it. I don't know, but it just look forced when you see the water ripling around you legs, but that is just me. When you are swimming the water looks even better btw.

The levels are (as said earlier) pretty linear, you can't get lost which is a good thing. They are nice and long though with plenty of variety. You get jungle, sunken city, underground, boats, and a submarine dock. Each one connected by a series of puzzles which range from DUH! to WTF?! Even with the help of the map and diary, the puzzles are usually pretty challenging and will keep your intrest even when trying to solve them for the 20th time with no end in sight.

Overall the game is a great addtion to your library and more than worth the price of a PS3.

1 - Uncharted is an awesome game
Nice review but I think there should be a bigger variety of reviews. Where are the Wii fans?

I really don't think the score is justified. I don't own the game but I have tried really hard to like it when I played it at my friend's home. Originally, I expected the game to be a fun and great one. But after some time of playing, I found out the actions are pretty mechanic and the gameplay sucks. It draws attention whenever you are climbing and platforming and it disappoints you greatly with its weird animations of the character. The hide-n-shoot is no match for hypes like Gears of War (or I am being too strict on this count). My friends is using HDMI and a 40-something Plasma TV and it only shows the faults of its graphics in very clear details. Blurs are all too clear on the screen. I am not too sure what the score should really be but I decided not to get this one.
