Assassin's Creed? or Assassin's Crude?
I have been playing Assassin's Creed for a few days now and am very close to beating it. I have really enjoyed my time with the game. The graphics are amazing, the story is well written and the layout of the cities are very well put together. But for all these pluses I can't help but get caught up in one major fault in the game. everyone, everywhere, seems to be doing the same thing.

No matter where I am there are always the same objectives. Either save a citizen, pickpocket, eavsdropping, interogation, or informants (either collect flags, or kill two or three guards). There is no variety, or deviation in any of these objectives. And on top of that they are all initiated in the same way. For example in order to pickpocket someone you must find them, listen to them talk to someone else, and then follow them until you pick their pockets. Why not listen to the two people talk about someone who has information and then go find them and pick their pockets?

Overall though, I find the worst flaw to be that you cannot kill your overall target without attracting the attention of the entire city. That was what made Hitman such a good game. You could sneek into a house full of armed guards, kill your target silently, and walk out completely unnoticed. The fact that even guards who were nowhere near the site of the murder knows who did it distracts you from the otherwsie realistic nature of the game.

1 - Another reason why UR fails.
You havent even beaten the game and you give it a 5.8? I would have accepted an 7 even though that is too low but a 5?

The game is very repetitions. I know the final assassination is different from the rest, but getting up to that point is nothing short of tedious.

Its the story your trying to unravel. Killing the target then finding out the next part of the story. The story itself is what made the game great. Sure its not perfect but its definitly not terrible or crappy. If your not into the slow paced stealth games then you should have reviewed resistance or something like that.

I love slow paced games, look at my library. I have both Manhunt games and all the Final Fantasy games for the PS2 (the game play is fast, the story takes time to unravel). My complaint with Assassins Creed is that in order to get to the story you have to do the exact same thing every single level, over and over again.
