Does Call of Duty: World at War live up to Modern Warfare?
Single Player Campaign,

The single player component of this game is fast paced and punishing, especially when the difficulty is on Veteran. The visuals very sharp and clear, and for the most part are on par with Modern Warfare. Fighting it out on islands in the pacific is a great change from the usual european locals, but having said that, the european areas in the game look as good or better then I've ever seen in a WW2 game before. Having Kefer Sutherland doing some of the voice acting in the game, tops off what I would call a quality single player experience.

Score 8.5/10

Co-op Campaign/ Zombie Mode,

Co-op was a fantastic thing for Treyarch to include in World at War. You get the exact same playing experience in the co-op portion as you do in the single player campaign with all of the cutscenes, only you get to enjoy it with 3 other people. Having included "competative campaign co-op" was a nice touch aswell as it has everyone competing for the highest score for each level.

Zombie mode was most unexpected, but a very pleasant surprise. I've spent quite a few hours trying to hold off waves of zombies and boarding the windows back up. One thing you have got to love about zombie mode is the Ray Gun. Its all very over the top for a serious franchise like CoD, but its a heck of alot of fun.

All in all, the co-op portion of this game has alot to offer, and really makes this game stand out from the crowd.

Score 9.5/10

Online Competative,

I'm happy to say that the online competative portion of the game is every bit as good as Modern Warfare. It maintains all of the game types that Modern Warfare has, but expands the amount of perks you have with the addition of vehicle perks. The tanks are a great addition to the game, but CoD 3 players will already be used to having tanks around. The maps are all pretty well designed and look fantastic. In my opinion, there is no graphical difference between this game and Modern Warfare. There are alot of great weapons to use and there are a surprising amount of weapon add-ons like Apertur Sights, Dual Magazines, Round Drums, Scopes, Flash Suppressers ect. Having a Flame Thrower in the game makes things more fun and interesting too.

Score 9.5/10

Closing Comments:

This game is every bit as good as Modern Warfare and even offers up a bit more value by having co-op included in the game. Call of Duty: World at War makes WW2 fun again.
