Devil May Cry 4 lives up to the hype it had, it has a great story, great characters, great boss fights, great visuals, simply great game.
DMC4 is an action/hack n' slash, in the game you take control of Nero, a young knight under the service of an organization known as the Order of the Sword who has a powerful devil arm . The game has 20 missions plus Bloody Palace from DMC3 returns with fewer stages but more challenging. By the middle of the game you take control of Dante and finish the game with Nero.
Dante's missions are harder than Nero's except for the boss fights which are way easier with Dante. With Dante you get new weapons when you defeat a boss like DMC3 but Nero gets upgrades to his devil arm, the Devil Bringer.
The gameplay feels the same as previous installments and doesn't add that much, but the introduction of Nero should give the developers a bigger reason to find new ways to make the gameplay more varied.
The graphics are very detailed but the sound/movement coordination in cutscenes is weird. Some shadows are pixelated when seen from afar but not many games have this kind of shadows especially the precision in which they are made.
The AI is varied, DMC is known to have basic enemies with practically no AI but this game makes the difference. Especially in harder difficulties some enemies find a way or a move you can't evade that easily kills you and just makes you want to throw the controller.
DMC4 is a great game but doesn't answer many questions and just opens up many more. So expect many more DMCs to come. Besides there's an odd similarity between Vergil and Nero, besides the DT and the "Power, give me more power" phrase.
In the end DMC4 will keep you entertained in whatever console you play it on. A must buy for any fan of a great game with wonderful aspects.
