Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is the ultimate action adventure. It puts together the best of the best: Gears of War gameplay, platforming, puzzles, great graphics, and great orchestrated music. This game can be considered a perfect package.
The story of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is excellent. With many surprises (with Sully), and with a well-written dialogue, this game could be comparable to the movies. The story is rather basic: tomb raiders searching for a huge loot, and end up wanting it to stay on a island. I won't get into any details except that you play as Nathan Drake an ancestor of Sir Francis Drake, and go on an adventure with Elena Fisher, a reporter, and Victor "Sully" Sullivan, a tomb raider in debt. I will recommend this game to anyone.
The sound of Uncharted is amazing. The orchestrated music is phenomenal, and some of the best music I've ever heard in a game. The sound of the bullets, and weapons are the same as every other game, but what makes this game shine is the off-beat sounds that are epic. Congrats Greg Edmonson for making such amazing music.
Now onto the gameplay, can I say this game is flawless? With the exception of some of the gun fights, the level design made almost all of them fun. The platforming was great, but rather easy, and the puzzles were amazing. The only part of the game I didn't like was the rather annoying timed buttons because they were so far apart, it was hard to know when they were going to happen. But besides that this game was amazing.
Visually this is probably the best-looking console game. The game is rather on and off graphically but in most places it shines. The fortress and the jet ski levels are some of the best graphics ever in a game. It looks simply stunning in every way. Also worth mentioning is Drake's fluid animations that make this game even more beautiful.
I would give this game a perfect score, except that this game is missing a key aspect: multiplayer. While this game may have the best single player for an action adventure this gen (except for maybe Bioshock), this game was made for multiplayer. Hopefully the sequel will have multiplayer.
