Resistance Fall of man was great the first time I played it early 2007 when I bought my ps3, and I decided to plug the game back in and was hugely disappointed. The game didn't age fairly well. I'll first mention how brilliant the guns were, and how amazingly fun they were to use. I had a blast using the auger, the bulls eye, and the laark but, the level design and graphics haven't aged well. The multiplayer is still fun to play.
I'm going to first mention the sound, why does this game not use orchestrated music? This is so cheap, especially for a premier exclusive, even Lair had orchestrated music. This is a minor complaint though.
Now onto the story, why is there a narrator. This takes away a feeling of an epic feeling, and makes the story rather boring. The story also is incredibly generic, and is basically the same story as every other fps.
Graphics for its time it was the best looking ps3 game, and now it looks like a mid point from last gen to next gen. The improvements from RFOM to Uncharted and R&C TOD are remarkable. The game has ugly textures, and backgrounds are ugly compared to likes of Gears of War, and Uncharted Drakes Fortune. The game character/enemy design though is top notch.
The single player campaign hasn't aged well at all. It is a boring SP almost as bad as halo 3. For some reason Insomniac cared about the longevity of the game rather than the quality. It takes hours upon hours but never gets fun until the end.
Multiplayer is still as good as it was in 2007. The game is still fun to play, fast paced, and reminds me alot of pc fps. Highly recommendable and the reason why I'm giving this game a higher score.
Overall: This game is a buy if you enjoy quality multiplayer games, and enjoy shooters.
