Assassin's Creed? or Assassin's Crude?
I have been playing Assassin's Creed for a few days now and am very close to beating it. I have really enjoyed my time with the game. The graphics are amazing, the story is well written and the layout of the cities are very well put together. But for all these pluses I can't help but get caught up in one major fault in the game. everyone, everywhere, seems to be doing the same thing.

No matter where I am there are always the same objectives. Either save a citizen, pickpocket, eavsdropping, interogation, or informants (either collect flags, or kill two or three guards). There is no variety, or deviation in any of these objectives. And on top of that they are all initiated in the same way. For example in order to pickpocket someone you must find them, listen to them talk to someone else, and then follow them until you pick their pockets. Why not listen to the two people talk about someone who has information and then go find them and pick their pockets?

Overall though, I find the worst flaw to be that you cannot kill your overall target without attracting the attention of the entire city. That was what made Hitman such a good game. You could sneek into a house full of armed guards, kill your target silently, and walk out completely unnoticed. The fact that even guards who were nowhere near the site of the murder knows who did it distracts you from the otherwsie realistic nature of the game.
