Worst DS game ever made.
If anyone remembers the original Monster Trucks on GBA, then they'll tell you how mind-blowingly terrible the racing game was. And Monster Trucks on DS, while slightly better, is still downright abyssmal.
Gameplay
The Gameplay is some of the worst I've ever seen in a game. You have 8 trucks to choose from and you race across 25 tracks in 4 player races. Sounds good, right? Wrong! Since the tracks are accross 5 environments so you find yourself playing the same 5 places on the same damn track (almost)!
In addition, the trucks you can choose from are awfully generic. They all almost have the exact same stats. But that's okay. Because you can upgrade your truck's stats, right? Wrong again! As soon as you begin to upgrade your truck you will see how thoroughly terrible the AI is. Their trucks don't upgrade like your's does, so the moment you upgrade one tiny thing, then the whole game becomes a piece of cake. In fact, when your truck is fully upgraded, you can finish a lap on a track before the opponents even turn the 1st corner! In addition, the opponent trucks stay so close together, you're almost guaranteed to come in 1st or last, anyway!
As if that wasn't enough, There's no sense of speed. And no desire to win, since the game lacks any ending whatsoever! It just leaves you to do the same tracks with the same braindead opponents over and over again until you descend into madness! It also doesn't help that the one shot you have at a true challenge: Multiplayer, ceases to impress, since no one will have the game anyway! If it sounds bad, then it's worse!
Graphics/Sound
So you're probably thinking "Okay, the gameplay's terrible. But maybe it will look and sound good, right? Wrong still! While the Graphics and Sound are considerably better than the Gameplay, it's still pretty bad. Track details are terrible, and while the music is only pretty bad, the Sounds the trucks make are, well, static-like (no joke. real static, people). And if you don't believe me, search for images on the internet to see for yourself!
Basically, the whole game is utterly a pile of $#%^. There are no redeeming points about it whatsoever. And if you see it, do not play it!
