Gran Turismo 4 Mobile Cancelled?

Sony announced way back in 2004 it was prepping a PSP version of Gran Turismo 4 for on-the-go racing. It was supposed to be an "exact replica" of the PlayStation 2 game. But IGN haven't received an update on the title since mid-2006, when series producer Kazunori Yamauchi told Famitsu that it was still on the way.

It looks like Gran Turismo 4 Mobile may not ever cross the finish line, though, as an IGN staff member just received a call from GameStop bearing bad news. The retailer says pre-orders of the game have been cancelled -- because the game has been cancelled. By the vender, apparently.

Really, how dumb is that answer.

I bought the best console this gen: The XBOX 360
I bought the best handheld this gen: the PSP

I don't like games to be cancelled or delayed for the platforms I won. Something Sony seems to do for all their platforms constantly. I known I am happy playing God of War on my PSP soonish, but it would be good to see GT on the PSP also as promissed although I am not a big fan of the series.

You didn't buy the best console or the best handheld idiot Mart. Best console is PS3 and the generation just started. And PS3 is cheaper since you have to pay $50 for the unreliable XBL that has been wonky. DS is the best handheld but PSP is making a come back.

Mikeslemonade what are you smoking? I can only imagine that you consider the DS the best console by the units sold since you didn't give a reason. And I love how you say that xbox live is unreliable because of two weeks of problems (and guess what, I was on live for those two weeks still playing). Not that I agree with Mart, but you sounded just like him. And using both all the time I can tell you that PSN is cheaper for a reason because it's made to just play games on and most people are happy with that.

6 - ds is best selling handheld but

far from being the best handheld. The psp kicks its arse in every way possible. Graphics, games, and gameplay, the psp does it better then any handheld outthere. The ds is ever so weak, just like the wi. Nintendo sucks

I can confirm that GT 4 PSP IS 100% in the works, most of the guys at the big P are working on GT 5 and GT 5P, people who were working on GT 5 P are back on GT 4 PSP with people working on GT 5 following suit with the few people slowly working on GT 4 at the present moment in time.

If I am not mistaken there is a GT game still in the works for the PSP.
I think it is to be a spin-off of GT5 instead of GT4.

But still this is sad news. Because GT on the PSP would be really Awesome.

I DID bought the best console, the 360. Untill the PS3 has proven itself and not sold by hype -and NO delivering- as Heavenly Sword and Lair, the 360 is king. Last year has proven I bought the right console at the right time. If 2008 is going to change things for PS3, well not hype again please, lets wait if those promissed games will bring all that.

Second. The DS sold more but is less powerfull then my mobile phone. Outside the fun of brain age, it's having graphics of 20 years ago. IT JUST SUCKS. If something sells, it doesn't mean it's good.

My god Mart you really are delusional aren't you and i bet your not a real gamer most gamers don't really care if a game has whatever on Metacritics or Gamerankings gamers just play games no matter what system they're on.

Oh and one more thing I think Heavenly sword is a great game defiantly one of the best games this year as for Lair it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be it's a good game not what it was hyped up to be but still a good game it is.
