Every site gives GOTY awards, which is why LBP and Fallout 3 have GOTY editions. I am sure most sites will give it to either MW2 or UC2, then there will be sprinkles of sites that give it to Borderlands, Dragon Age, Batman, Super Mario Wii, and AC2.

well there are 2 good reasons for this.

1. advertisement, although uncharted 2 got some, lets face it no one on the market gets more than a halo game, not even a call of duty, Grand theft auto game. i mean when your game is found on soda bottles, posters, cinema shows, movies ect. you are asking to sell one hell of a load, that's for sure. also lets consider that for some reason halo games tend to come out when nothing as interesting or appealing is out, making it the default option.

2. Brand recognition(popularity) you wanna talk numbers? well take both granturismo and metal gear solid 4, metal gear when to hit more than a million in only a month, as for grandturismo prologue goes its a similar story, and lets not forget its only a demo at that. take zalda, mario, call of duty, grandtheftauto. and tell me you don't notice a trend.

however i will admit there are rare cases, like gears of war and wii fit, but one has to look at what makes those games sell as they do/did. gears for example sold the first time around because it was 360's showcase ip which came at the expense of the 600 ps3 launch, and lets face it the 360 had a year head start yet there were only like a handful of games you could say you wanted to play one of them being call of duty 2, so again it was a no brainer.

as for wii fit? tell me seriously what else is there to play on the wii? the wii has been dry for a very long time. and most of the people who buy wii fit buy it they feel it works, but to me personally its just another gimmick like those countless rockbands and heroes roaming around flooding the gaming market with the same old cr@p seriously.

buy a ps3 for bluray? sure why not, if its there ill take it, but.... for 300 when you can another one out there for maybe 99 less? doesn't make much sense to me. i mean that's just my opinion i guess.

speaking off back to uncharted 2 i just got a perfect the other night, shts mint son...
