Dissidia 2 Hanging In The Balance

Dissidia: Final Fantasy has now been out for a few months in the West, but its sales figures are actually quite low in comparison to those from Japan, and even lower when compared to that of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII's.

While this might not seem like a big deal on the surface, it may actually prohibit the release of any kind of sequel, as Square Enix stated that a sequel would be based on its Western sales.

I think it's probably more likely a sequel will be on the PSP again.

Considering the sales I would have to agree that if a sequel does happen it will more then likely be on PSP or maybe PSP2 if they wait awhile before they actually make it which may be possible considering all the stuff SE is working on(Birth by sleep, Agito XIII, 3rd Birthday)

I would have to say though that a PS3 game would be so insanely awesome.

I'm still waiting for my copy on the PSPgo. Maybe if they made it available on the PSN they would have some more sales.

Sales would be better if 75% of psp owners didnt have Custom Firmware, everyone i have ever met with a psp has had it I even put it on mine a few weeks before i sold it.

6 - Well...
I didn't particularly care for it and it's on the PSP, so I don't see why anyone would've expected amazing sales. The game didn't even get spectacular reviews. Literally the only thing selling this game is the Final Fantasy in the title. If this game was just called Dissidia, those low sales would be cut in half. Then again, if this was a typical Final Fantasy RPG, the sales would be doubled.

BTW when I say, "and it's on the PSP", that is in reference to the massive amount of piracy issues Sony has on the handheld.

hater, dissidia, is one of the best game out there for psp mixing very well the formula of fighting and rpg too, with a good story, i would love to see more of it, and about the score it got, whatever, just for its cam that i see very well done in a game of this kind and with the tiny psp screen..so stfu dud.

7.1 - You should try...
using the reply button sometime. It definitely get the mediocre scores just for its cam, but someone as easily impressed as yourself wouldn't notice that anyway. You probably think any game on the PSP is AMAZING! It's really hard to take you seriously with that hilarious avatar, btw.

i dont know about square enix anymore they are money hungry just like Activision. I remember a certain Square enix rep. saying something about the PS3 install base a few years back. Well Square enix look at the sales now this is what you get for loosing faith in Playstation and turning your back on its fans. Final Fantasy should of stayed where it belonged as a PS3 Exclusive. Me personaly im looking forward to VS 13 than FF13. And where the HE** is FF8 for PSN huh i know it dont take that long to port it to PSN. but anyways i still haven't played this game yet

Maybe I'm alone with this thinking, but I'd love to see a sequel on PS3.

Dissidia was a great game, but I'd love to see what Square could do with a fighting game using the PS3's power.

Japanese gamers are crazy for anything JRPG related, and also fighting games. That's why any Final Fantasy knockoff will do well, and why arcades are still very much alive there. In other markets, though, JRPGs have a harder time being accepted (numbered FF games being the exception), so knockoffs barely stand a chance, and I think the fighting genre is over saturated right now. It's really not surprising that this game isn't selling well. That's no reflection on its quality, it's just not the right market or right time for it.

That's what I think, anyway.
