Green Day Coming To Rock Band

During Kevin and Bean's Breakfast with Green Day this morning on KROQ 106.7 FM, the band confirmed that they'll be doing something involving Rock Band in the near-ish future.

When an audience member asked them when their songs would be appearing in Rock Band, lead singer Billy Joe had the following to say: "Uh yeah, we're doing a whole Green Day Rock Band...uh."

if they were to make one make it old songs. when i come around, basketcase, longview, welcome to paradise to name a few id like to see.

but im still not sure they would release an all green-day edition. as much as id love one, their songs are too simple and made up of power chords mostly. so it'll mostly be constant strumming of A D F G power chords

Do we really need this many rock bands? I get the beatles, they are the #1 band of all time, I can't see to many bands after the Beatles that could have an audiance that could move rockband kits. Maybe Pink Floydd, Led Zeplin or Rolling Stones, but Greenday? If they are smart they would do a Seattle rock band with Peal Jam, Nirvanna, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Foo Fighters and maybe a few Presidents of the United States songs..lol. "Kitty" anyone?

Green day is fine I guess...but Motorhead would have been SO much better. Plus, they've been here for like forever. Plus, Lemmy alone would make this game worth it.

I can see why they went with the Beatles first, as it's a pretty iconic band, and although Motorhead isn't as popular as it once was, they're still quite respected and loved, I say it's time to give them a game.

On a side note, Lemmy is in Brutal Legend from what I've seen. =D

I would get it but I can play all their songs on real instruments....lol only joking, I still enjoy Rock Band.

Anyone fancy Led Zepplin rock band ?? Im waiting for a decent metal game. With the likes of Killswitch Engage, Bullet for my Valentine, Trivum, Metallica, Staind, Slipknot etc etc

I am a resident of the Norcal Bay Area, and I gotta say, out of all the eastbay punk bands (AFI, Operation Ivy, Green Day), Green Day is the most shameless sellout.

They like to critisize society in their music, yet they have no integrity themselves. They sold out HARD. They're music is so watered down and over-produced, its sad that this is what kids are growing up listening today.

Its an even more sad statement on Rock Band though. Green Day were never good musicians. 1/2 of their songs use the same three chords.

Green Day are artists? That's news to me. Their music has been in a steady decline since Insomniac was released.

I just find it funny that they try to be passionite about politics yet that same passion doesn't extend to their boring music. God, if I here that song "I walk a Lonely Road" again, I'm gonna rip my stereo out of my car and throw it off an overpass.

Music sells out to make money, and if games need to sell out then thats what they have to do unfortunately. Make money or make a minority happy ?? If you were in their situation and needed to feed your family you would probably do the same.

1. your saying the fact that there is a first rock band (RB1)
counts as an unnecessary released game? good logic there pretty sure the franchise HAD to start somewhere

2. RB2 was released a YEAR later.....

3. you said it your self AC/DC TRACK PACK <---- thats what it is

4. Beatles : Rock Band will be released a YEAR from RB2

5. Rock Band Unplugged is the psp iteration of the franchise like GH: On Tour no one made fun of GH: On Tour because it was "whored" but because it sucked.

6. this mythical RB3 that you claim will very more than likely released 2 WHOLE YEARS from RB2

Dude, I was simply listing the collection of Rock Band games, I didn't feel like going into a big giant thing, but that AC/DC track pack is still sold in stores for $29.99, it may not be an iteration of Rock Band but it was 3/4 the price of Guitar Hero Metallica, which is a new iteration with new stuff, but I don't wanna get into the GH/RB war zone, I am just tired of RB fans acting like Harmonix & MTV are God & Jesus compared to Red Octane and Activision.

I support both games, I have them both but I am purely talking about the fans who act like they are superior, it's annoying to me.

FYI I am a bigger fan of Guitar Hero, but I do enjoy Rock Band.
