Next-gen Star Wars revealed for PS3 and 360, PS2 and handheld versions also in the works

The first details of LucasArts' PS3 and Xbox 360 Star Wars project have finally emerged, from the latest issue of US mag Game Informer.

It's called Star Wars: Force Unleashed and takes place between Episode III and Episode IV, when new Sith on the block Darth Vader is out to wipe the galaxy clean of runaway Jedi.

As Vader's apprentice, you're on a secret mission to dive head-first into the forbidden Dark Side of the force, take out the emperor and rule the galaxy as master and apprentice.

Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are being developed in-house at Lucasarts, while PS2, PSP and DS duties have been outsourced to another, unnamed developer.

I live and breath for anything Star Wars...and I agree ladies the split of the development teams is a great idea because I hate when the next gen titles that are also released on the "Old" consoles just feel like a fountain pop version of what it could actually be.

This game sounds great and all, but I think people that are fans of star wars games want another Knights of the Old Republic game. I hope in the near future that this comes true and we have another great star wars RPG, but other than that, this game sounds interesting.

KOTOR was great, but so was Jedi Knight. And the movie games (EpI-III) with their action/adventure slant on events weren't too terrible... not to mention there's LEGO Star Wars now as well.

Star Wars fans are pretty open at this point.
Here's hoping this is another great SW game. The premise is great.

But please- PLEASE be "oldsk00l" Vader and not whiny Emo Anakin. "Oh, Padme, I love you so much I'm going to choke you unconscious while you're pregnant. Sigh."

This game has alot of potential. Imagine a Wii version though, swinging the remote like a lightsaber....thinking about it, it would probably end up crap. Oh well.

15 - I would rather hear something

more on Battlefront 3 than this. I don't have a good feeling about this project. Unless they make it more about running around as Han Solo in his smuggling days, then I am not interested in the days between Episode 3 and Episode 4. It's only about an 18 year time frame. How about something more on Battlefront instead.

KotOR 3 and/or Battlefront 3 all the way!

I'd almost rather them do either of those. If anything, redo Battlefront 2 for use with the 360, and add in some kick-a!! graphics, some new maps, and i'd be happy!

this game looks cool, but an apprentice while an apprentice!? I mean, c'mon- it destroys the whole "always 2 rule" the Sith have.

if you want to do something between Episode 3 and 4, then let us do some smuggling as Han Solo. Plenty of story board material with Han before episode 4 starts off. A KOTOR style game as Han, picking up just after he's been tossed out of the Imperial Army and freeing Chewie.

Somthing new with a lightsaber is nice (real nice) I hope there is a good balance of gameplay between saber and powers. What I realy want is another Republic Commando, Battlefront3 and a Ninja Gaiden Style lightsaber game with Live play, oh and another Jedi Knight game would be nice to. I love me some Star Wars
