I agree. If Sony makes a PSP2 it needs a second analog stick. That's my only problem with the PSP. And maybe have the sticks work better. Can they make them more like the PS3 analog sticks?

Ditch the ps3 stick design and emulate MS and nintys sticks. going from one bad design to another wouldnt be a good move.

The hand held has been out since 2005. As far as multimedia devices 4-5 years is a long time. Here is hoping Sony is smart enough to include phone functionality in it.

4.1 - phone functionality? NO!
I want them to focus on the gaming aspect. Not a useless feature jacking up the price.

They might include a phone functionality just so that we could use the network for wifi connection to the PSN and be able to connect around the world with other PSP2s.

I just hope, if they do... it's T-mobile cuz i got unlimited everything.

I don't think it's coming out until 2011 or 2012. The PSP is hitting it's stride in Japan now, and there's still plenty of time for it to really take off in America and Europe.

I think that when the new PSP2 comes out it should use a cell mini. The chip should allow developers easier development for the system, seeing that developers should have enough experience developing for the cell by then. Include a mini cell upgrade all the other hardware, and make cosmetic adjustment (another analog stick, better fit for your hands) and Sony has another great handheld.

The current PSP already has a ton of features so allow developers to make downloadable apps. for it, add a Touch screen and QWERTY keyboard for easy and simple navigation (and to allow you to easily send messages to other PSP2's). You may want to add tilt technology to it, and I've always been for the 2 camera idea to take pictures of what you see and yourself, so add cameras.

If it's going to be a phone, Sony should buy out so unknown phone company and make their own extremely cheap phone service ($120 a year for phone and unlimited texting). You should also allow things like IM, Skype, and Wi-fi to keep gamers from using all of their minutes. Remember the PSP is a gaming system first (all other apps. are features that help sell it).

Keep the OS open like you did with the PS3 (the PSP2 should be like a laptop).

Finally and the most important thing of all. Make a great and exclusive game fro the system.

6 - What the frack would beefjack.com know on the matter?
"Is Sony working on PSP2"?

yes. Of *course* they are. They may decide against it (in the end) -- and I highly doubt it. But of course they are.

And a post from "beefjack.com" is worthless on the matter. N4G has turned into a clearing house for absolute garbage.

I dont think Sonys going to add all those features he wrote down. they aren't gonna make the same mistake they did with the PS3 by releasing it with a high price tag.

I would rather not see it as a phone, it would be too bulky to carry around for that. I'd rather see it released as a gaming device first and foremost and let that dictate the design. A second analogue is a must, I think dropping the UMD drive in favour of a HDD or a very large amount of RAM would be a good thing. With a second analogue and improvements to the Remote Play feature you could play your PS3 games on the move. If it doesn't take up the room for something more important built in GPS might be nice. Google Maps and the choice to set the GPS to show your position to other PSP2 users would make the whole world a real world version of HOME where you could meet in cafe's/bars/parks and play multiplayer.

My main "I want" for any possible PSP 2 release would be a nice amount of internal memory, the lack of any is my biggest gripe with the current iteration of the PSP.

They need more better analog sticks and better speakers, i mean sometimes i could barely hear the game, and before i didn't even know the speaker was a analog stick lol...

Sony should consider making a PSP2. I would like to see the following in the next PSP:

1. Second analog stick. FPS games suck on the PSP, which is a shame since it can handle them graphically.

2. Multi-touch touchscreen. Allow for PSN touchscreen casual games (MegaTouch style games on the PSP ;-).

3. Either stick with UMD, but with a MUCH better UMD drive (maybe mini Blu-Ray in a UMD casing, but with FAST seek times)... Or ditch it all together and include a generous amount of built-in flash memory with a MS Pro Duo socket (after all the money us PSP1 owners have dumped into those cards...)

4. Bluetooth support. Allow PSP2 users to use bluetooth headsets, and bluetooth DUN with their cellphones for non-hotspot online support. Also, DualShock 3 support over Bluetooth would be a nice touch... ;-)

5. REASONABLE launch price... I was one of those early adopters that paid $250 for the PSP and no games.. $250 with at least one bundled game (or PSN coupon for free download(s)) may work OK... depending on what Nintendo will be charging for their next-gen handheld...

6. Full PSN integration. Allow PSP2 users to log into PSN if they are in a WiFi hotspot, and give them the ability to video/audio/text chat with friends on PSP2's or PS3's. Allow developers to tie in console and handheld versions of their games for online gaming (e.g. playing Madden '11 on your PSP2 against an opponent on the PS3)

7. Playstation video store streaming video/audio. Tie in the Sony Pictures movies and shows, along with the Sony Music library into the Playstation Store. Setup streaming accounts (like Rhapsody for music, and NetFlix for movies) and charge customers a flat monthly rate to stream as much music/movies/shows as they want. Tie this in with the PSP2 for on-the-go enjoyment.

Now do I expect even half of this to happen... Nope... But it would be sweet...

The film closes out with a montage of scenes showing a happy ending for all concerned. Pedro wins the class presidency. LaFawnduh, having journeyed from Detroit to visit Kip, is immediately smitten with Kip. After she transforms Kip's fashion, they leave town together. A fully recovered Grandma returns and has clearly missed Tina, the llama, more than her grandchildren. Uncle Rico's girlfriend, who is mentioned earlier in the movie when Rico and Kip are eating lunch, returns to Rico and his van, as well. And finally, Napoleon is playing tetherball by himself until Deb shows up and starts playing with him, having forgiven her friend.

We have Skype! Why do we need a phone service?

I would LOVE if it could constantly be connected though, even when idle, like a phone. I'm just concerned with battery life.

I have a few ideas going.

19 - spreading the word
here are the rumors that are hitting the psp2 for the past year and a half since psp-2000. basicly rumor is the next psp2 not psp 2000 or 3000 is supposedly dropping the umd drive to replace it with a small harddrive going from 16 gigs to 30. all original buttons will still exist from the psp but with the additional touch screen feature as seen in the iphone. and last better wi-fi and a phone service in the psp 2 [thats where skype came in] so we can expect the psp2 to extend the skype feature in the next version. im guessing there will be a cellphone ad-on for the psp2 in case people will want to use it as a cell phone now that the touch screen will appear. psp2 will sell alot better then the psp when it comes out. psn now exist on the psp. basicly backs up the rumor on getting rid of the umd drive.
edit : also there were some rumors about being able to use your ps3 controller to play psp games but i think that feature exist on the psp 3000 model so its already happening.
