I think i would much rather they annouce a new IP and let us have our fill of the Halo univese with Halo Wars and Halo Chronichles for the mean time.

We don't even know a single thing about Halo Chronichles and i believe announcing Halo 4 before we have played Halo Wars or heard and seen anything about Halo Chronichles could dampen the excitment and thunder those games could generate.

After those 2 have seen some shelf life and satisfied our craving for more Halo then an announcement of Halo 4 would be awesome.

i agree green...Halo Wars is shaping up nicely and i cant wait to see what Peter Jackson has in store so a Halo 4 would be pointless at this time but a new Bungie FPS would be sweet

Not that great of a story to Halo anyway, so losing Master Cheif wouldn't be a big deal. Sure he's an icon and all, but he can be easily replaced. It's not like he's Snake or anything, there's no big story everybody is waiting for, just point and click, point and click. The next Halo will be just like the last one. Change a few guns around, add a vehicle or two. What else would they need for people to buy it? Maybe the new lead character will have a third arm so we can have three guns this time instead of two.

Wasent the Minority Report Style thing for the ps3? where you use the ps3 eye? i swear there was something for ps3 about it...i never heard about 360 getting something like that

As much as Halo 4 I'm sure would be awesome to a lot of 360 owners. I think a new IP form Bungie would be more welcomed and then maybe after that bring on Halo 4 in maybe 3 to 4 years. The last thing we need is for Halo to become boring and just seem like a rehash every year.

Now I don't own a 360 or particularly like Halo, but I do like Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Dexter, and it was nice to see those developers put out game's that were completely different from those 2 on there first shot on the PS3. And now each of those developers have 2 great franchises instead of 1.

I would think that most 360 owners would love to see a new IP that hopefully would turn out good and that way Bungie would have 2 great franchises instead of just 1.

I have like a 90% feeling that it is not Halo 4.Bungie and Microsoft stated several times that they agreed on the split in order for Bungie to work and creat new IP's.

So after saying that what is the point of running back to the same IP in less than a year that you claimed to be running from in the 1st place?

Halo Chronichles is deveoped by Wingnut studios so it will be Peter jackson annoucing the game not Bungie.So i have to go with a new IP.

7 - Bungie IS NOT doing Halo 4....FACT!
I have a family member who works at Gearbox. Gearbox has been in development for Halo 4 for about a year and a half now. I have said this before, but no one I guess wants to hear the facts. Gearbox has also been in development of Aliens, which from what I'm told looks freaking amazing!

I saw the preview of Aliens by GearBox. Looks/sounds pretty cool.

Back on toppic. Bungie said they were working on a new IP and that they will mention what it is this coming Monday 14th. So Halo4 is not being my by them.

8 - bungie may be working on a new IP
but its microsoft that owns halo.. they can pass the franchise to another developer at anytime..

even the guys at bungie said they would lend themselves to future microsoft halo projects in an advisory form of help.

microsoft could do halo cart racer, halo olympics (finish the race), halo 2d fighter, halo cameos in other shooters, halo bake off (finish the muffin), halo digital card game, halo 4, halo 0 (begin the fight)

To be honest they really have me going right now, I have no idea what is going to happen. Bungie has said before that they are working on multiple projects right now so yes one of them could be halo 4. I just can't see them giving that up in a similar fashion to the COD series. But who knows i keep hearing things about gearbox. They did do a good job with halo 1 for computer.

I think the project that they are supposedly announcing at E3 will be something new and dealing with that superintendent icon that keeps floating around the bungie home page and forums. And I don't think that has any connection to a halo game.

and yet they just gave a way a new free map on Halo 3. I seriously doubt Bungie wants to walk away from their cash cow Halo series. I just think Bungie wanted the "feedom" to set their own time tables and craft other stories outside of Master Chief driven stories. If they had stayed on under the MS ownership they would have driven Halo completely into the ground. Now they have a chance to breath new life into the series.

I'm kinda torn on this one. I love Halo but Halo 3 was kinda a let down. I do think they could do a Halo without Master Chief anyone who has read the books know there are alot of characters a Halo game could follow that are all just as if not more bad ass then the Chief. The whole problem is that every Halo feels the same and while that may be a good thing to some degree changing things up a bit helps which is why I think people are so excited about Halo Wars and Peter Jackson's Halo Project. If Halo 4 is indeed going to be announced I'm interested in what they are gonna do with it.
