I just finished it on my psp( m33 with pops 3.71) and it was great. the perfect way to play it. and on a small screen, the graphics looks ok.

don't think remake is a good idea, since it should be played knowing it's an old game. but if it makes more people play the game I guess it's ok.

yeah well, the XII was created by FFTactics teams, that's why the game was completly different. I did'nt like the style, but still, the game was great.

with no real main character. It seemed like Vann was suppose to be the lead protagonist but the whole game focused on Ashe. But the mechanics and combat were exactly where I wanted the series to go.

FFXII was dope. They went back to FFVII approach in character development, where all the main characters had his own full fledged story, instead of FFX style of here's a few characters...the rest are just along for the ride.

The world map system was what we always wanted as in you're actually physically traveling from place to place instead of being an icon moving on a representative map.

The difficulty was definitely upped in this game. Imo it was the hardest final fantasy game I've played.

Finally the voice acting was top notch. I literally can't think of a game that had voice acting as good as XII.

So ya I dunno why people hate on XII. The game was sick.

12 is a wierd one for me. As a few people here say, the story was very lacking, I wasn't much of a fan of Vaan and my main team consisted of Basch, Balthier and Ashe as I really liked their character design/background (although Basch needed a different Wardrobe!)

I've played a few MMORPG's including FF 11 and I gotta say that I really liked the whole game mechanics from the battles through to the Hunts and rare creatures. I feel if it had a stronger story this could of been one of the best FF games to date.

I still hold 7 and 8 as the best of the ones I've played (4 through 12 excluding X-2) and just for you X lovers out there, I felt that was the worst of the series *Evil grin*

Graphics purely amazing i thought. The story was good, but not great. I just never saw the connnections between the lead, "Vaan", and the antagonist, "Vayne", unlike Titus - Jecht/Sin or Cloud - Sephiroth. I loved the side quests such as the Mark Hunting. Yiazmat friggin epic lol. Good game, but character development could have been better.

A lot of people complain about "no emotion". The people in this story have had their world torn apart by war and they have all lost the people dearest to them. The story was like a Greek tragedy. I have to admit it took me a while for the game to hook me in. It was Vane's speech when he took over Consule of Rabanastre when I knew this game was something special. Final Fantasy is going through a transformation as far as story lines are concerned. They are taking a more realistic approach and blurring the line between good and evil. Take the earlier mentiond speech by Vane Solidor. It was inspiring and insightful but you still knew there was something evil about this man. To be able to convey this type of duality on such a subtle level is just brilliant writing.
Look at Kefka. "Ha Ha, I'm evil... I love to kill for killings sake." It doesn't make you really wonder what this guy's about.
In life sometimes it's not just doing the right thing that is the difficult part. Sometimes the difficulty lies in discovering what the right thing is.

Sucked? No way man... For sure the story don't have the power of other FF, but the gameplay have come to a point I like there, it's more dinamic. I still like ths old style, but I can see there a tentative to blend action/hack and slash to RPG, being the final product more of a RPG... If you could only actually really control those atacks instead of just select what your char will be doing, and let the RPG turn thing more to the gadgets.

But, like I said, I still like the old way and don't want to lost it for new way, but I can see Square trying it on some new franchise, or in a FF once in a while (since on FF has no relation to the next FF).

I thought FF12 was a beautiful game that was great but it really did seem a bit empty in as far as the emotion in it. I didn't feel as much for the characters as I did in previous FF's (obviously excluding X,X-2 etc.) I wanted to like the characters, I wanted to sympathize with them... But I couldn't make the connection personally. Vaan wasn't very likeable to me, he was kind of a monotone one dimensional character... maybe it was just poor voice acting... maybe it's just me. Oh and the battle system was the best part of the game by far, had alot of fun with that. I hope they go with something similare to that in the future games.

I agree, it is going to happen. Various members of the Final Fantasy team now know the word "remake" without need of translation..Also, over the years the interviews yield answers to this question increasingly blatant. It used to be "there are no plans for a remake" and now the response is "the team that created the original game is still tied up with Versus: XIII...."

They are finally relenting, no longer outright denying, and even treating the question almost glibly "I don't know!" If it really wasn't going to happen, they would be really clear about it.

Yes, publishing rights to the original FF:VII game. Anyway, I know it won't happen (going to 360) BTW MS owns publishing rights for Mass Effect but Sony fans keep saying it'll get ported. EA owns the rights for future installments and mass effect projects, not including the first one.

Unfortunately you're half right. Microsoft does own the publishing rights to "Bioware's Mass Effect" but since Bioware was acquired by EA there is seems to be a loop-hole. So if EA wants to make Mass Effect multi it can.

EA owns rights for Mass Effect PC and future Mass Effect titles. The console version of the first Mass Effect is published by MS and they own the publishing rights for that title only.
