"No plans" for MGS4 or GoW bundles in Europe

Videogaming247 has been told by SCEE that there are "no plans" to release either the Metal Gear Solid 4 or God of War: Chains of Olympus bundles announced last night in Europe.

no plans means not yet officially announced.
Months ago the rumor was that EU would be recievig the bundle.
They probably do not want to see a sales reduction in ps3's as people may wait till june for the bundle.
It will happen our EU brethren need not fear.

Sony sells more in Europe than they do in the States.If they announce the bundle over there,the only effect it will have is it will slow down sales,period.

Furthermore,if you think Sony doesn't care about Europe then you're GREATLY misinformed,they know that Europe is their key market right now and trust me,they're not going to confirm the bundle for Europe until they've met their quarterly sales target.

hes right though we allways get short end of the stick i so wanted to buy UT3 if it would of come out at the same time as in america i would of bought it in a heart beat, had nothing else to buy, but now with burnout and DMC4 taking my money that game gets left out. we allways get the short end of a the stick. and were the ones that have been keeping sony on its toes compeating with MS

It wouldn't be such a negative considering the hardware sales in Europe are already decent, and where Sony really need to focus on is the North American market, and actually in Japan now. I hope they do realise that even though they are outselling the competition at the moment, the gap of sales means there is still alot to do. Bundling MGS4 with the PS3 will ensure a massive surge in hardware, and software sales.

9 - GT5 Prologue Bundle!
Not sure if it is news but im almost certain the Europeans will get a GT5 Bundle very soon.

We are getting them here in Australia soon, I know this cause i work for Playstation and have been sent GT5 bundle advertising to give to stores.

Edit: Although we will be getting the GOW PSP Bundle so it would be weird that the europeans dont. We generally get similar treatment, both being PAL territories.

If you actually read the article SCEE have said "no plans at the moment" to offer these bundle deals because they'd have to work out the pricing. You people have to realise there is no 80GB in Europe

this is obviously just to try to boost console sales in the us. in case you havent noticed the ps3 sells well everywhere except the us. thats all. if the ps3 was on top i bet there wouldnt even be a bundle anywhere. plus you have play tv so stop b!tching.

It would be a bad move to not release the bundle here in Europe and I have a 60GB Playstation 3 anyway so I just want Metal Gear Solid 4.

I am a bit pissed that there is no European release date for the Dual Shock 3 as well how long do we need to wait for it?

Sony isn't treating the European Market like crap. every market has their own agenda. this is why Sony Japan Got DMC4 bundles and Hotshot's Gold Bundles and Gundam Mosou bundles. Destination Station is a US event. for US retaliers and that Happenes every year. So you cant expect US to dictate what EUROPE and UK Does. after all Sony is a big company with Different entities and their own Presidents, They have the freedom to articulate what ever plans that best suit the market. in EU and UK, Gran Tourismo is perhaps the best Selling Franchise their and from what i've seen for the austrailian market, which is also a Pal region a GT bundle is Planned...

also keep in mind that There are no 80gig configs in The Pal markets. on 40gigs and if you're lucky 60gigs, with that being said they'd have to place it on the cheaper model because they no longer mauafature the 60gig in Pal regions

So pleae you Euro Breathins, sit tight and wait for a proper anouncement. Sony america Knows that The PS3 while it's gaining moment needs to be selling much better, Over here in the states MGS is perhaps bigger so a concentration of that game is needed for the Market to out sell it's competition.

and expect the GT bundle to Hit sometime in March.

17 - The majority of PS3 hardware has been sold in Europe.
And 360's only install-base lead is in North America, so it only makes sense that they want to eliminate Microsoft's last territory advantage. Europe should get this bundle too.

at least EU is getting the game at the same time (may not be exact date but same week or two) as US/JAP release

and seriously with all the bundles EU has had already; you think they won't have a MGS4 one.. of course they will there is no official announcement is all. Seeing how yesterday was a North American retailer event it was the time for NA announcements..

only thing that could be a big maybe is if DS3 controller out by then and in bundle or no.
