UGO: SOCOM: Tactical Strike review

The SOCOM series has had a good run on Sony's PlayStation Portable, a device which in general has struggled to find its place in a handheld market dominated by Nintendo. In fact, because Fireteam Bravo and Fireteam Bravo 2 were so successful, someone decided that the franchise needed to be heading in an entirely different direction, and one to be decided by a new developer no less. Typically, such a baffling move could be viewed as the kiss of death for the game in question.

Thankfully, the opposite proves to be true with Slant Six Games' tactics-focused take on the franchise in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike. With its slick interface, better-than-average visuals and a lengthy - if somewhat far-fetched - narrative-driven single player campaign, Tactical Strike is one of the better reasons to charge up that dusty PSP this holiday season. UGO gives SOCOM: Tactical Strike an overall rating of B+.
