"Hmm… Once again, I get stuck reviewing a sports game with no official storyline per say. Most of today's sporting games don't have a clear-cut storyline, but at the same time, they all have some kind of a season.
If you use your imagination you can look at the season(s) as your storyline. In NBA 09 The Inside you take over one of the many NBA teams and act as player, coach and general manager. Drafts, trades, retirements and injuries are some examples of how your club's story can be affected. Yes, there is no official story with movie scenes and wild dialogues, but at the same time, 25 seasons of basketball will certainly create a story of its own."
