UGO: Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress Review

UGO writes: "Fans of both anime and fighting games get to see worlds collide in the elaborately titled PlayStation Portable-exclusive Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress, from CyberConnect2 and Namco Bandai Games. It is a perfectly acceptable - if a bit shallow - release obviously geared towards fans of the youthful ninja-in-training. Though there's a bit more to play with than the arcade-style best-of-three matches which are so common to fighting games, Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 ultimately falls victim to its own overly simple combat controls. That and the fact that the game was already released last summer, sans a few features.

At the core of Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 is the story-based Mugenjo mode. Here, Naruto and his ever-growing party of fellow fighters must work their way to the top of the titular Fortress, where Princess Dusk awaits. Each floor is made up of mostly blank rooms which must be created out of a stock of ever-regenerating scrolls. In addition to Battle Room scrolls, a number of minigame rooms can be created as well."
