Tony Hawk: Ride Face Plants with 114K Sold

IndustryGamers: With the NPD data for November having just been released, IndustryGamers has learned that Activision's "reboot" of the Tony Hawk franchise, Tony Hawk: Ride, has gotten off to a pretty slow start. The game sold a total of 114K units across the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 during the November NPD data period.

that's still a lot considering it's a flop in the reviews

I pitty the 114,000 foos who bought this Piece of S*#%

NecrumSlavery5250d ago

so did everyone but tony hawk

TONY FLOPS: RIDE (down the sales charts)
hahahaha

mauleriscool5250d ago

They needa reboot and bring back the old school gameplay such as Ps2 THUG. I got broadband(at the time) just so I could host 8player matches on there.

Hisiru5250d ago

I hope this game won't sell anymore. I played this PIECE OF S* and believe me guys, the reviews are right... DON'T buy it, it's a bad game and expensive.

Where is the "Pro Skater" series including "secret tapes"?

dragunrising5250d ago

I hope Activision-Blizzard learned a lesson...overpriced games bundled with plastic accessories are all kinds of fail. Kind of funny that the overpaid CEO's thought jacking up the price to play and making a cruddy game would equal success. The Tony Hawk franchise just can't compete with Skate.

Noctis Aftermath5250d ago

I wonder how many will be taking it back for a refund/trade-in....

vhero5250d ago

after christmas it will be in the bargain bins for next to no cash.

Perjoss5250d ago

overall i think this is good news for gamers.

Admiral_Benson5250d ago

.....how do you like them apples?

Just goes to prove Activision is definitly a one trick pony.

COD sells like crazy but the rest of their games aren't worth $hit.

RememberThe3575251d ago

Now that's a flop. I'm not sure if I see this one having long legs either.

Sangria5251d ago

That's 114k too much, Activision will certainly release DLC and Ride 2 next year. They need a great spank in order to understand the way they are taking is no good.

Emmettcelticfan5250d ago

over priced rubbish that isn't responsive. what were they thinking with that skateboard.

PirateThom5250d ago

Anyone surprised this piece of crap sold best on Wii?

asdr3wsfas5250d ago

I thought the same about the DS and Chinatown Wars.

Cheeseknight285250d ago

Pretty sure Guitar Hero sells best on Wii, so no surprise here.

Really hate to be those 100,000 kids on Christmas day (Assuming at least 14,000 of those are idiot adults). Glad my parents knew what was crap and what wasn't back in the day.

Never say no one. There’s always going to be someone who’s contrarian who’s gotta say they’re actually a fan of one of these

darthv721003d ago

i had the jaguar and cd32 and yeah, their stock controllers werent all that. They got the job done but there were better ones. The 6 button jag controller felt better to hold and incorporated more sculpting for the hands and fingers to reach the number pad easier. And the competition pro cd32 was like a genesis controller in shape and comfort. Way better than the stock one.

As for kinect, it worked, it was fun but i liked the non gaming uses for it. some people got pretty creative with reverse engineering that thing.

Father__Merrin1002d ago

The Ouya controller was incredibly poor. Looked nice but quality of doad buttons triggers was that of a cheap knockoff you get for £1.99 on ebay

I'll give some of my own personal ones, Not in order and def can't do top ten there are soo many....

1 - BRINK
2 - Bought MK9 during PSN Blackout couldn't
3 - 2 weeks into Playstation Allstars and reallizing how unfinished it is
4 - When FFXIV first came out/The crazy wait for FFXIII Versus
5 - The last guardian delays
6 - The realization of lack PS Vita support on most fronts
7 - My Sega Gensis Broke the day I "bought" Sonic and Knuckles
8 - My PS3 Yellow lighted the Night I bought MAG on midnight launch
9 - Twisted Metal/Starhawk Sales
10 - Most of the endings to Legacy of Kain games (yes I know why they are like that)
*BONUS* - Realization I'm Never going to see a Mega Man 8 like MM game ever again
**BONUS** - Roy and Mew Two was absent from SSB Brawl
***BONUS*** - Brawl.
lol.....but some really Pissed me off though.

Spenok3474d ago

Lol yeah Brink was a pretty big disappointment. One of mine was Turning Point. It had SUCH a good premise, just turned out horrible :/. Another would be the lack of people to play MAG with. It was easy enough to play for a couple months, but it eventually turned into a 2 hour waiting game just to get lucky enough to get into a game, and all the other modes no one played. Loved that game personally. I agree on the Vita one, I love mine, and have TONS of games for it... it just really should have more support overall. TOTALLY agree with Twisted Metal and Starhawk, both were so good. Another would be Age of Conan... it could have be so much, but ultimately just fell flat on it's face. There's quite a few moments to be honest, but at least there's plenty of good moments too to make up for them :D

Thanks man, we appreciate it :)

ForgottenProphecy3475d ago

No order
1. PSN down for a month, the month Portal 2, SOCOM, Mortal Kombat, and other games came out at that.
2. Xbox One reveal
3. Zipper Interactive shut down
4. PS3 from launch until 2009
5. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro not owned by Sony or ND and Insomniac respectively.
6. The Wii
7. RRoD
8. Microtransactions
9. Activision killing Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero by releasing it too often
10. David Hayter not voice of Snake anymore
Bonus: infamous 2 reveal with that weird looking douchebag they called "Cole McGrath". I'm glad they changed the look of him back to normal though.

DragoonsScaleLegends3475d ago (Edited 3475d ago )

I agree with everything but I would also add Watch Dogs and Sony forgetting about most of their PS1 IPs and cutting all ties with the classics on PS4.

ForgottenProphecy3475d ago

Yes, I did forget those. I went off the top of my head, I'm sure there are plenty of other important disappointing moments I've forgotten too.

......it's better they stay forgotten.....

SteamPowered3475d ago

The Wii wasnt a letdown in my opinion. It was never touted as anything but the Console for Casuals. Now the Wii U launch, there is a bad memory.

ForgottenProphecy3475d ago

I was a young lad when the Wii came out, I believe 6th or 7th grade. I wasn't following advertisements, I just wanted a Gamecube 2, and I didn't get a Gamecube 2 when I opened a Wii Christmas morning. I got, the Wii.....

ContinuePlay3474d ago

The launch was bad, but the console itself is fantastic :)

xaidrien3475d ago

Great list Olitron! I really enjoyed reading this one quite a bit.

SteamPowered3475d ago

In my most humble of opinions, the Kinect 2.0 is the biggest letdown in the last few years I can think of. The 1:1 tracking and voice recognition were severely lacking at launch. I know this is a polarizing topic, but its just my thoughts.
