I'm trying to stay objective here but it just seems like Sony has so many things to look forward to. People get mad at Sony for talking about all this stuff but none of it is available yet, but what is Microsoft talking about? Not only does MS have nothing coming out soon but they aren't even talking about anything worth getting excited about.

Awesome pics! The art style is vastly improved. The C hybrids look much cooler now.

Is it possible to be happy about a game and not turn into sad and pathetic fans boys? You guys sound so bitter with some of the comments. Be happy about the game and stop bashing the other systems. You sound like bitter old women. Some of us get to play good games all the time, you know those of us who are not fanboys and worry about games rather than systems.

I am excited simply to see that it has a true dynamic lighting system...something the first game lacked (although lighting in that game was far from bad, it had a hazy overcast style...and no dynamic shadows...always bothered me)...

it is safe to say that this game will easily go toe to toe with Killzone 2 for best looking console game so far...the jump from Resistance to R&CF:ToD was like night and day...and even early scans show that Resistance 2 will go even further...

didn't read much on this yet though...does it still use some of the original engine?...R&C seemed to use the exact same lighting engine as Resistance 1, but Resistance 2 obviously has something far more advanced...so at least the lighting aspect of the engine got a major overhaul...

This is freaking INSANE! First of all, we know that the game can't even be in alpha yet and those graphics look freakin SICK!!! Insomniac are officially the gods of gaming!

All of the freakin features they're packing into this game are sick too. Not to mention I'm sure we'll get a totally fresh round of innovative weapons this time too!

All I have to say is... Killzone 2 had better come out before Fall 08. Because Resistance 2 just stole all the anticipation I had built up for it in one small news sweep! Of course that's the great thing about owning a PS3... I'll definitely own both games ;-)

The first thing I said was OMG and it was funny the first post said omg.

When I thought about Resistance two I wondered if there would be any improvement in graphics and by looking at the screenshot, yes there is.

It looks more ah... what's the word? beefed up. The real time lighting looks amazing, texture look better and the character models look more detailed.

Insomniac is serious about there games and I think this will be released in the fall of 2008.

Edit: Okay I looked it up and it sold 2 million. I guess that's pretty impressive but I would hardly say that means the console was is "over" when games like UNO for the xbox 360 sell over 1 million copies... lol.

Saying that is just as dumb as when a ton of xbots said it last summer.

But these scans blew me away. Would be sweet to see some in-game footage.

God I would love if they made it possible to swich from 1st to 3rd person just like we can now in UT3 (Action Cam mod).

Resistance 2 is going to be levels and levels beyond RFOM. I mean, come on, TWO FULL campaigns. I don't think a game has ever encorporated an entire new storyline that lets the co-op players play a part in the story as well. In the first, the single player and co-op was all surrounding Hale. The guy you played with was a random black guy that was really nonexistent in the storyline. I bet the co-op campaign will be made up of these unknown Sentinels (the secret U.S. government-backed group of black ops looking people). Most likely, the Sentinels are just like Hale. They are probably the very few who were infected yet still lived. This is why they took in Hale I think. But anyways, you'd think, how will 8 people be playing in one game? For this to work, this means Insomniac will be putting a BUTTLOAD of more enemies on-screen. I mean, this will be an all out battle. From the 8 player co-op to the 60 player online, this will definately be heavy on team-based gameplaying. But besides these big numbers, you've got Insomniac working heavily on revamping the AI. And hopefully animation as well. The first could have used a better hit system imo. It seemed like a lot of the Chimera types didn't react at all to the damage they took until they died. But from animations to hit systems, I definately think Insomniac's got it cover after noticing the jump in that department with Ratchet and Clank. This game has really channeled the hype I have for the many other PS3 games coming out this year. I cannot wait till FALL '08!
