Regardless, she may very well be posting negative stuff about Ubisoft and smearing their games, because they burned a bridge with her by not supplying her with anymore inside intel/information.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i am highly skeptical of conviction especially after playing assasins creed. If the missions are as repetitive as assasins you can trust it will be overlooked. Was anticipating far cry 2 but game devs should really stop making games that only run smoothly on computers that most of us dnt own. Looking forward to a console version too assuming it looks and plays as good as what they initially showed off. If not...

I can understand being skeptical, since Conviction will be using a similar gameplay style that AC used (social stealth, crowds, etc.). But the thing is they are also very different (or I assume they will be from what I know now). AC was an open-ended sandbox environment and, therefore, needed side-missions. These were repetitive, but they needed something to fill all of that space. Splinter Cell has always been a more linear game, and even though it may be less of one now it will still be Splinter Cell. Not only that, but Splinter Cell has multiplayer to mix things up a bit.

On top of that, Splinter Cell was delayed, unlike Assassins Creed (which probably should have been, even though it had already been delayed multiple times). In the end, you can see that they probably learned something from the response to AC and are making necessary changes. At least, I hope they are.

You know, she called Assassin's Creed a train wreck. Said it was generic, it would basically suck, and the control scheme is just too hard. She also gave this lengthy paragraph about how the game will be so blah that it gives you the impression of staying away from it.

Assassin's Creed, at least in my opinion, was worth getting on sale at Gamestop for $10 cheaper. I rented it first, loved it, enjoyed throughly, and purchased it. I fell into the camp of the PA guys. Anyways, I digress.

The point I'm trying to make is this girl/guy/thing has this vendetta and blood-lust for Ubisoft. I don't know what her/him/its deal is because Ubisoft does make some top notch games. I think Splinter Cell will be a great game. I doubt Sony would the first company to go thumbs down on a Lost game given how much Sony is in desperate need for software sales (hardware is doing pretty solid). I would've expect Microsoft to give the thumbs down in order to preserve its track record and mantra of "We have the best games and multi-platform gaming performance".

This girl/guy/thing has been putting up garbage about Ubisoft since about September. She has never been correct about anything. Doesn't anyone recall her "hacking" incident? Are we so quick to forget that she was fortunate to get attacked by a passionate and caring hacker that he/she/it did not reveal all her/his/its contacts to the public? I know I would sure as heck reveal all of it to provide contribute to her credibility.

Bottom line: Splinter Cell will be a solid game. Lost will probably appeal to the niche crown (let's be honest this is not a game for mass appeal). And I doubt that all of the sudden ALL of Ubisoft's games are delayed considering they are all developed by separate teams within the company. You don't see EA delaying all of their games because someone for the team of (let's use) The Simpsons game couldn't make a deadline so ALL of their games are delayed. It is ridiculous. I would expect maybe something like that out of Atari given their situation but not Ubisoft.

Dr. Pepper is right, the king of delays right now is Silicon Knights will Too Human. However, let's throw in 3D Realms too for Duke Nukem Forever ;-)

Well, if you're going to use gamerankings in your arguement I will use them in mine. Splinter Cell recieved a 92.5% and Chaos Theory recieved a 93.8%. I wouldn't call that "crap".

Fact is, according to reviews, Double Agent wasn't as good as the previous Splinter Cell. I myself prefer MGS over SC any day, but that's off topic, right? Because this is about Splinter Cell. Not about HS or MGS.

believe it or not, sony has employees that reject games brought to them because they are crappy. As do all console companies. Some are more picky than others, some aren't picky at all. If something is going to generate too much negative press because it sucks, then to them its not worth having on their console. This said, i think surfer girl is a fake and just hears rumors from friends in the industry...don't we all?
