EB and Gamestop now taking reservations for MGS4, June 17th Release Date

PSU.com writes:

"As of today, EB Games and Gamestop are taking reservations for one of PlayStation 3's most anticipated titles, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots.

For only $5 USD, gamers can ensure that a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 is awaiting them on release day. According to Gamestop, the release date is set for June 17th, 2008. No word however on a Limited Edition or Collectors Edition of the game."

The game is basically finished. Just listen to the Kojima Productions podcast and he tells that Kojima is like playtesting it like crazy and they're talking about a worldwide simultanious release and whichever territory gets the language finish will get the game released first.

nah am going with june i WANT it in june GTA and other games can hold me off till then. hopefully kz2 and home comeout before then. As long as its june and not pushed back any further i will be quite happy. I really dnt see myself leaving my hse as soon as i get mgs4 in there for at least a week. First i have to finish the game twice then bug out about it online then buy strategy guide to look for what i missed then call up all my friends to start up MGO. Very magical week for me. Whenever it drops i'm happy its more important for sony to sread their games around so i have tripple A game to play every month. Kinda like what xbox did in 07

the only way i will pre order is if gamestop is the only store to get the special edition but other then that i get my games a week and a half most of the time .i dont really trust gamestop one day i came to pick up my pre-order which was months in advance they said that gave away the last copie but had an out of the box display one for full price .

This may be the first game I ever pre-order. Well, I may pre-order FF as well, but I'm skeptical because I know a lot of people that didn't get their game on release because Gamestop didn't get enough stock (eh hem... Halo 3), so I may just go store to store until I find it instead.

GTA IV in april and MGS4 in june as far as I know. A highly anticipated title is being released in every month starting in febuary with DMC4, No more heroes.

March: Crisis core , TEkken 6, GT5 prologue

april: Star Wars: TFU , GTAIV

Knowning MGS history, with delays, and such, I think this might be the Proper date.

Especially if GTA 4 is coming out in march or so, to keep gamers busy, then MGS hits, just in time for the summer days when school is done for most, etc.

Yesterday December 31st, I was able to place Metal Gear Solid and Soul Calibur 4 on reserve. Both games are set to be released on June 4th.

Can you imagine the contents on this disc??? Collectors edition, or not... your getting your 60$ worth

1. Entire MGS mysteries, story, revealed
2. Tons of bosses
3. Tons of content
4. Top notch graphics & gameplay
5. Metal Gear Online 2 included!!! ( OMFG!! )
6 and apparently, this game will be super duper long, meaning TONS OF REPLAY VALUE!!!

I seriously can't wait, hopefully after this Hideo Kojima will team back up with Yoji Shinkawa on Zone of the Enders 3... that game will rock so f*cking hard on the PS3!!! They better make tha next Z.O.E. online... if not Im gonna... uhhh, not play MGS4 as much.

MGO is not included with MGS4 in total. Ryan Payton stated the details were still being worked out. What they want to do is provide an introduction to MGO with MGS4. This could likely be the ability to play MGO in 1 or 2 modes with 1 or 2 maps.

He also said that if MGS4 owners decided to purchase MGO they would not be double billed for the same items. Finally he stated there would likey be a bundle available with both titles. Until the matter is final it is still speculation and up in the air.

When MGS4 is released my Uni will have finished for the year, leaving more time for gaming. If it had been released Feb/March I'd be too busy to sit down and play for any length of time.

Plus we have Killzone 2 to look forward to, LBP was supposed to be here this year and then there's Home in the spring too.

I've never played a Metal Gear game. What's so good about it? Scratch that, I played some of the first one on PS. 3/4 overhead view, crap graphics, you can walk around and see the enemies' POW because it shows up on the screen as as a 45 degree angle in front of them.

Another dumbass that doesn't know anything about the game, doesn't know there are multiple camera views available for the audiences such as an OTS cam and a 3rd person cam - like in MGS3 Subsistence. Once again you are a failure at attacking something with which you have no experience, no understanding, nor any current knowledge about the game or it's offerings.
