So, in summary, you may get updates to some games, you will not know what they are doing, the author doesn't know what they are doing, and in some cases the update 'could' be causing issues w/ the system crashing. Kind of a long article to tell me nothing...

It does tell you that there are pathetic 360 owners out there who feel that instead of buying a system that isn't defective by design like the 360 they will sit around making up fake stories about PS3s all over the Net or searching the Net for garbage like this article.

Just think of how much healthier a place the console world be if Microsoft and its fans didn't exist.

That was a waste of a minute of my life to read that. Why is this even on this site? It isn't news and it makes no real sense. The updates serve a purpose. Sony isn't releasing them or having the publisher do it just to ruin PS3s.

You get game updates by going online in the game, you can only go online with the latest firmware.

Everytime some update comes there is allways someone claiming 'AMAGAD MY PS3 BRICKED !!!!!1122111211!!!!!<insert more moronic internet slang>'. Sure there are systems out there that break regardless of it being a pc, console, stereo, tv, etc, etc. The more units sold, the more likley someone out there will have one break. People try to use a broken console as the next 'red ring' in hopes to throw some more mud. Like i said, sure there may be a few here and there that break. Some of those may even break after a system update, and further, some of those might have been a coincidence, and.....'amagad' made up.

I guess someone was late on the update for CoD4, cause they already stated a patch was coming out but didnt say when, as for Heavenly Sword no one saw it coming but at least they added rumble, and this tries to makes it out to look as if its a bad thing or something, and not to many people suffer from update problems when a game asks for it.

8 - Updates been out for a long time

This is the first time I have heard ppl say stuff like this. This is fake until proven otherwise. There would be a much wider spread by now if it was a problem and the updates been out for such a long time. Ppl making stuff up to get hits for their site

I've downloaded the patches and my PS3 works fine. It's rumble because after the update my copy of Heavenly Sword was rumbling, which it's never done before and it hasn't received any other updates so...

Wait a minute, when did CoD4 update come out? I've updated Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Warhawk and Resistance and I know they all added rumble support. Also updated GT5P which added online mode. I don't know wtf the author is talking about?

well i for one welcome these updates, i imported my dual-shock 3 last week and i love it. Didn't realize how much i missed it until i played warhawk with it, and let me tell you its so much better with rumble. I thinks its a good move by sony getting games ready for this feature before the controller is released mainstream in NA.

Funny how much of a complete waste of time reading that was...

Anyway, MotorStorm had a REAL update, i been offline for a while so i dont know when i happened. The MotorStorm update was huge (to say the least) and it allows "mirror mode" on all the tracks during online play. meaning we can now play ALL tracks in the reverse direction. It's pretty cool and ads a lot more difficulty to the game. It had to have been recent bcuase i only stopped playing MotorStorm online when UT3 came out.

Anyway, this story was approved why?
