I personally import every game I want if its more than two weeks delayed in Europe. But in this case it was on PSN so why wait the extra week when you could download it instantly cheaper on the US network.

Its also cheaper to order the games from the US compared with the euro prices. A game in Denmark costs $100-$120.

My point was that maybe people should have waited and bought the game from their own region to avoid the problem from the start.

Having to wait happens to all of us at some point or another. All the PSEye stuff you guys have gotten in the EU still hasn't made it over here to NA (besides Aquatopia & Operation Creature Feature...two forgettable d/ls). Everybody, but Japan, are waiting for GT Prologue. Normally the EU gets shafted most, but it still happens to all of us at some point.

Why would people bother to import the game anyway? It came out like 2 days after the US release on PSN, so to import a game just for the headset (it is cheaper to buy the PSN version and a headset separately anyway) is rediculous. Maybe it shows that some people arent ready to let go of disc-based products just yet.

but correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't there a big kick over the drakes demo on the PSN been region coded on the PSN surely if it was available on the US PSN on the lots of people with US account could download it early

I recently bought Ut3 from a canadian site for 77$ delivery included, now it hasnt been released in sweden. But when it releases it will cost 108$, thats the average price for a new game here..

I'm sure you realise that that is not the problem.

You bought from the store both times....you are one of the lucky ones who can buy from the US store...most of us cannot. The problem is people who imported the disc game and are not sure whether they need to buy the US update...and if they do, they can't.

Hulk Smash companies that do region specific releases!

My biggest peeve with my PS2 was that I was only ever able to get the original WRC here in Canada. They never bothered to release any of the sequels (of which there were like 3 or 4).

I used to cry myself to sleep wishing I could play them. :P

Borehawk had to be one of the biggest money wasters this year. Not only was the much lauded headset a faulty piece of garbage, but I found a game that was inferior to the Battlefield series in every way, which I only payed a fraction of the price for.

Sorry fandroids, but i'll stick to Xbox Live and Battlefield 2142 on my PC for my online gaming needs

There's a way.

I've been importing for years because I live in the UK and I got tired of waiting 6 months for a game I really wanted because of the region I live.

I currently own. US Darkness and UT3 and HK Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I got an online credit card which allowed me to purchase the first DLC for NG:S and then the next 2 packs came out and the PSN wised up to online credit cards leaving me with no way of getting the next DLC. I had awesome fun with NG:S so I was extremely gutted to find I could not get the extra packs.

Eventually I found a guy on Ebay that sells the PSN cards allowing you to just input a number to get stuff from other region stores. The guy sends you the number in an email. You don't actually recieve the card but you are ready to go buy stuff immediately and this worked perfectly. I don't know if US PSN cards are available yet or if they are going to be but if you try hard enough you'll find a way. Even if it's finding a fellow PS3 owner in the states who is willing to share their own files for payment...

Metal Gear Solid 4 is supposedly a World Wide Release... I'm not gonna hold my breath. I think 2 and 3 were supposed to be world wide releases too.

Incidently, anyone heard anything that MGS4 will be the first region locked game? I was told this recently by someone in Game (So yeah, I take that information with a pinch of salt) but seeing as I like playing games on time, I feel a little concerned to say the least.

By any stretch of the imagination, it's exactly the opposite.

Warhawk is so sought-after, that people are willing to accept international copies before they're officially released in their territory.
