Unreal Tournament III Glitches In The System

"Day one of Unreal Tournament III for the PS3 isn't without a few bumps. One of the more significant bumps is one of the most touted features of UT3 on the PS3: support of mods. Epic Games is aware of a few problems that popped up in the first day of Unreal Tournament III on the PlayStation 3.

So it looks like there is some refining to do. Remember the game was pushed up to make a December 2007 release instead of January 2008. So we inevitably face glitches. The good news is Epic is listening and working on the issues. I did experience the same issues with voice chat. Multiplayer gameplay last night was smooth. This morning it was significantly laggy. We'll keep you posted on any updates or when a patch is coming."

This news is just reporting facts, its not like there hasn't been news stories of 360 games that released with glitches, the sad TRUTH is it happens even with great games sometimes it has bugs, hopefully they will patch it quickly and ps3 owners can enjoy the full potential of the game without these issues, but that said stop acting like a desperate little kid that thinks ps3 should get a pass from people reporting factual info, whether its negative or not. sonykids are a paranoid bunch=

edit: vvvvv you are so full of sh!t its ridiculous, I'm on my second playthrough on ME and there's no way the game is barely playable because of glitches, it has texture pop-in 2 sec's after loading levels and after cutscenes and it runs smooth, stop the hate sonykid.

WTF why every time a good ps3 game come out everyone has to talk about little glitches and problems??? i have a 360 and a ps3 and I can barely play Mass Effect when the battles heat up because the game is so Choppy And Orange box on 360 has framerate problems also and gears of war even had online flaws people blinking all over the place or losing connection every 5 secs but they wear good games so you heared no complaining..UT3 is a good game but just because its on ps3 its flaws have to be highlighted WTF!!!!!!!!!

Every time news of a PS3 problem, you cry "lazy devs" or "sabbotage" or "conspiracy".

Why on earth would someone put glitches into their own game? Are you actually saying that REPORTING all these problems is sabbotage?

ITS reality! The Game has glitches. Framerate issues. It doesnt support mods (as promised).

Slappy - I'm pretty sure 360 fans aren't missing or losing sleep over UT3 right now. We're busy playing so many great games that we haven't had time to notice. As far as I'm concerned, let Epic take their time and do it right, even if it takes a long time. I for one am looking more forward to Gears 2.

i had hella horrible lag last night. i tried to play a close corridor CTF map last night and i was dying before i was seeing ppl. doh.

i did notice the voip didnt work. sad too cuz thats one of the best parts. plus i wanted to yell at my teammates who couldnt blow up the damn core! took them for ever!

7 - offline glitch too i guess....

I dont know if its my ps3 or the game but ive been playing warfare offline and i experienced a little skipping of framerate when alot of bots surround me and there would be a crapload of shots being fired. This only happens briefly and rarely. I dont know if anyone has played offline warfare and noticed this but it could just be my ps3

7.1 - TEXTURE POP UP

I installed the game to my ps3 and i dont see texture pop up but i heard if you didn't want to install it it takes longer to load the textures and you'll see more pop up...I wish I could have installed gears of war on my 360 because textures load up so slow and sometimes you run around at the start of a level looking like a smeared Blob (espically when playing online)

9 - I played a little last night.

No Lag at all for me, ultra smooth. But dang, it's fast. lol. I'm adjusting from CoD4 speed to UT3 speed (like a 3x jump). I must say, I like it so far. Now, how to balance UT3, CoD4 and whatever else is on the menu at the time (FFX for now). All the great games.

the only thing I've noticed is texture pops just when the level loads and then its smooth from there on out. they need to get the lagging issues online worked out though.

playing campaign with my buddies we didnt have a hitch of lag, but I play a deathmatch and everybody was lagging *even myself to an extent*

edit: I installed the game last night after I finished playing, so I dont know if that will help yet, have t wait until I can play again.

Gears has crazy host advantage ie one shot kills. i played last night for 3-4 hours and only lagged once for less than 2 seconds. amazing frenzied action.I think this game should havew been cheaper than a full game though Warhawk is 10$ cheaper due to online only. I think this game should be as well cause the single player is a joke and I am never going to play it after the 45 minutes I spent fragging bots in a plotless campaign.

Thats the reason you play on dedicated servers. Sure, there are pay4use networks today that fail to offer fair dedicated gaming servers and force you into unfair p2p only host schemes. But UT3 certainly offers dedicated servers that are 100% fair for everyone.

16 - i was skimming down the comments list here and noticed a couple of "texture pop-ups" complaints

its funny how ps3 fanboys were bashing gears of war and mass effect for texture pop-ups and now the ps3 version of UT3 has the same problem. dont you people realize that all these games are related? they all run under the unreal engine and i noticed pop ups in some other games that run the engine.

there are games on ps3 and 360 that have no pop-ups that really showcase each consoles strength so im guessing that UE3 is inconsistent with console games.

u cant go wrong with having both consoles. even tho i prefer my 360 more since xmas 06' and bought more games for it....and mabe its because i havent opened up my ps3 yet, its still under my xmas tree but im dying to get online and play some resistance and UT3. MGS4, GTA4, ninja gaiden 2, FF13, Battlefield bad company, Frontlines fuels of war, and possibly gears of war 2...its definitly awesome to have both consoles

17 - Great game with normal lauch glitches ...

Texture pop-in just after the level loads is only issue I have experienced. Texture pop-in must be an unreal engine issue as gears of War also experienced this when levels would load.

The texture pop-in is less than Gears - probably since you can install the full game to the hard drive.

Framerate is silky smooth and this game does best Gears in the graphics dept. (mainly because it is more colorful). The cut scenes do look like a Gears sequel with marcus Fenix's brother as the main character. Cut scenes are smoother and more refined than Gears too.

I loved Gears - no bashing it - it's just the Unreal engine has been more refined since Gears and it shows in this game :)

Another great game to play over the Holidays!!!

I have Mass Effect, UT3, Uncharted and Halo 3 to play - good time to be a gamer.

This is pretty grown up for once. I like that not to many people are bashing anything really. Even some of the die hard 360 fans are being really (how do I say it) mature. Now just need to get the PS3 guys to do the same ( many of you are ). Another Great game by Epic. Good job guys I am sure they will have it ironed out soon. PS3 + 360 = gamer gold.

install the game and you shouldnt have to worry about to much pop up and go for low ping games dont jus rush into a game because it has 15/16 players and you want to fill it up,it may have low connection speeds and in return you get lag..
