The game sold around 500,000 units total. That number won't jump much this holiday as every Ps3 owner is going to be getting Uncharted, Unreal 3, R&CFTOD and Rockband. Thigns like that.

HS is a financial disaster in terms of profit for the company, unless Sony footed the bill... Which, they've been known to do in the past. Look at All the Crash games and spyro games and Resistance. Sony footed the bill and allowed these independent companies to do what they wanted to without worrying too much.

I don't think this team is worthy of that kind of praise by Sony.

I love Heavenly Sword and there are a plethora of things the game does amazingly well and impressed me greatly, but i had 2 bug bears with that game. 1, its too short and 2, it just feel's like..."effort" man. They were always saying how emotional the gameplay will be, how it has an amazing story, its so epic...and it is to a degree but its like tried to hard to make it that way, trying to divert the course of a river if you will. Unlike Uncharted: Drake's fortune which is just effortlessly cool, great story, gameplay, characters, and is proper funny at times. But maybe thats just me. Im not dissing Heavenly Sword, don't be thinking that, it does a lot of great things and alot of gaming firsts

I didn't liked the game, the story isn't as good as I was told. Kai and Bohan are the only likable characters there...

I am looking forward for anything from Insomniac and Naughty Dog because their games are great and Ninja Theory sucks.

Well I liked HS and played it for a good while. I thought they went with the cheap end boss however. Not cheap as in omg I can't beat him just cheap as in weak. It was the best movie I played till Uncharted came out. I hope it's HS 2 and they expand upon the idea 10 fold. I'm hoping for more info soon ^^

Ive never seen so much hate for an independent studio, who work hard to produce one of the most impressive looking game engines around - with so few people.

This isn't EA or Ubisoft...this is a small independent studio making their way in the game development world to bring something new, and incredible. And they succeeded with their first next-gen game, and I'm sure they will again.

Carry on criticising and you're all calling for EA to make all our games. Retards.

I do get what you are saying. A studio saying they are working on a game is technically news.

But if all I am telling the world is "we are working on a game and its really amazing...but I cant say more than that"... is that really news? I mean HELLO?!?!?! they are a game developer...OF COURSE they are working on a game.

Until they say..its a PS3 only game, or its a shooter title, or heck ...just any specifics...then to me its really news. But just saying we are working on a game? ...starting sarcasm again... "Well Gosh Darn! this whole time I thought they were working on a new spreadsheet program".

21 - The button-pressing sequences

need to be a lot more forgiveable, and I didn't particularly enjoy the Sixaxis-based puzzles. But the game was an amazing experience, the combat was damn near perfect, and the story was shockingly well done.

BTW, anyone who claims to beat this game under 6 hours is either a superhuman or just plain lying. Even Phil Harrison said that even their in-house testers couldn't do it under 7 hours. I'm damn good at videogames, and it took me 8 and a half hours to beat.

I do find it funny though that some of the retards here will hate on Heavenly Sword for being 8 hours long, but make absolutely no mention of Call of Duty 4 (6 hours) or Devil May Cry (2~3 hours).

28 - As with Uncharted and R&C

They seems to first focus on the game engine. R&C had more content. Lair was really good in terms of graphics, gameplay - when the devs allowed you to actually play the game - most of the time they interfered - and caused it to be extremely linear to the point of irritation. HS did similar in many places - but the graphics engine was absolutely great.

Now they need to create more content for the engine that they created. Spend more time on the gameplay content next time. The gameplay and the engine is great - allow for more freedom in the gameplay and this will own!
