Pain broken like bones, removed from PSN, but will return soon

"PlayStation 3 owners who hopped online to snag the new PlayStation Network title, Pain, might have noticed a few issues. You're not alone -- I experienced issues, too. Two characters (a creepy looking Santa, and the scantily clad female, Cookie) wouldn't load for instance, giving me an error message which told me to re-download and install Pain to correct the problem (that didn't work).

It's because of these problems, as well as issues with the online leaderboards (there were none) and a broken video on the community, that Pain has been removed from the PlayStation Store. But never fear, the problems are being fixed, and the game should be placed back online shortly."

Seems like the perfect game to have in the background when you got mates over. Hopefully the bugs will be ironed out sharpish and we'll see this grace the UK PSN next week... Lol who am I kidding, THIS YEAR =p

I pretty much agree. We second class customers kind of got off lucky here. Its not so bad being ignored by Sony when the goods are faulty in the first place.

Now get it fixed and pop it over the pond damn you *shakes fist*

you know how they said that 5 different people can download a game and intall it? does that mean 5 different machines or five times downloading it period. What I mean is that can I only download it up to 5 times even if it's on the same machine? that would suck. I understand the upto 5 systems max (using the unique MAC #'s)... Anyone know?

yeah its actually both... which means you can download it 5 times, but to any ps3 that that particular psn id is logged into. So yeah, if you download it for 5 different buddies, and for some reason you have to uninstall it and download again.. you are SOL.. but that is why you get your buddies in on the price, meaning only 2 bucks a piece.. unless you are just a nice guy of course.

Re-downloads to the same PS3/PSN ID are not counted in the 5 download rule. You are not SOL if you delete things.

......So if you want to get rid of some of your lesser played PSN titles to save some space, you can delete them and not worry about losing it forever.

Once you buy the game, you can download 5 times on your machine or on your friends PS3...Me and my buddy spilt the games and just buy them all for $5 apiece and then he logs into my account downloads it on his PS3 and boom he is got the game on his PS3 now...

Its not that it was missed in testing .. it was missing probably the packaging of the final product that caused the issue .. PAIN like warhawk appears to be not shareable which means that it has some network checking to do before it lets you play.

I'm also sharing games with some friends. I think that you can download it as many times as you want, to as many machines you want. But the game will play only on machines where that particular account is ACTIVATED (account management>activate system). And one account can be activated on up to 5 PS3s. That's what I think...not quite sure though.

You need some standards! We've had the Spyro, Crash, and Medievil PS1 fiasco (on the UK PSN), then the Drakes fortune region problem, now this in the US!

I know MS can be seen as being too strict with regard games and D/L's going gold and there are still problems on Xbox live, but Sony seem to not even test or play the games that they put on PSN, if they did they would surely know about these problems?

This is off subject but I just got guitar hero 3 and does that guitar work with the ps2 guitar hero 1 and 2.

I found out first-hand because GH3 was the first I ever played and when I found out how great it was I wanted them all. So I went out and bought GH2 w/guitar and a PS2/PS3 adaptor. First off, the GH3 guitar does not work with GH2 and the GH2 guitars have very limited functionality to GH3, meaning only a few buttons work. Hope that helps.

Also, the Rock Band guitar and GH3 guitars are NOT compatible with the opposing games either, just in case you don't know.

And sorry for the rude replies. I'm always going off topic. I don't understand why some people would waste the time to be say something like that rather than just not even answer you. Power of the internet and anonymity I guess.

13 - Seriously disappointed

Not only does a lot of this game not work, the parts that do don't exactly explain how t unlock other things. I've been playing one mode for a while now wondering whether I'm making any progress at all.

It's still a lot of fun (especially the bowling, and especially when you're drinking), but for anyone that doesn't have it yet it would be best to wait for an announcement concerning this on the PSBlog.

And there is NOTHING more satisfying than ruining someone else's shot in bowling by hitting them with a flying monkey.

14 - That's a PAIN

Well, I didn't get this game I figured I would wait for a special in a half off type of deal. But if the game still works, minus the two characters that are unplayable. Does it hinder your experience of having fun playing the game? I'm sure Sony will release a patch soon, just like the many other game that come out, to fix major or minor issues such as this one. For $9.99, I wouldn't expect a game to be prefect. Let alone a game that cost you $59.99, that almost immediately needs a patch to fix some sort of issue.

14.1 - It's fun

It's not mind-blowing, but it was never really meant to be. I just wish the game was a little more straight forward with unlockables and characters but those are probably just the glitches I guess. I was just annoyed that 1. No more maps 2. Only one character to choose from at the beginning 3. You don't really know how to unlock other modes at the beginning after the crash course.

The wife and I had a lot of fun playing last night though. I'm sure the alcohol helped the situation, but the game is a blast when you've got someone else to laugh at it with.

16.2 - Actually Lawnman, you just made a huge mistake.

People like you have been saying that since 2006, and I'm still playing Call of Duty 4, Warhawk, and Motorstorm online for FREE. I paid $60 for each game; I don't feel like dishing out another $50 each year just to play them online. Maybe if Microsoft offered dedicated servers to developers, I'd feel less itchy about it, but they don't and Sony does.

The reason most people don't talk in Warhawk is because something like 2/3s of users simply downloaded it off of the online store; the other reason is because you need to hold down the L3 button during gameplay to talk. It's not like Halo where everyone can speak without pressing anything (sadly). There's a hell of a lot of people playing that game though, and the numbers just seem to be growing.

"NOBODY is on PSN" - That's the funniest statement yet. There's something like 3 million PSN users; denial is strong in this one!

Every game I've played in Warhawk has had people talking on it, including myself and I didn't buy the boxed version. I just owned a BT headset for my phone already o_O. So I don't know which servers you played on, if any at all. And XBLA DOES have a little over 100 games considering their 100th title was launched like 3 weeks ago, where'd the extra 200 games come from? There are a few gems in it but a lot of the stuff is crap, or you've probably played it like 15 years ago. PSN's going to remain free, you're just trying to feel good about having to pay to play online.
