At bloody last! Now I have to go buy it again as I traded it for Lair (Which, oddly enough I'm REALLY enjoying :)) when it didn't load up any more objectives! Good thing I kept my save game.

1.1 - I'd wait...
I returned mine 3 days after release, as it was unplayable. I would keep an eye on Ubi forums over the next week or so to see what the feedback will be. I'm sure they fixed the freezing, but if the framerate and screen-tearing isn't fixed I'm not sure I'd go buy it again.

3 - K, wait... (to LeShin)
As a fellow PS3 gamer, would you mind lending me 5 minutes to tell me why you like Lair? My $10 could depend on it as I'm on the fence as to whether I should rent it or not...
And I'll definitely d/l this patch later today. Good move, Ubisoft... Now make Assassins Creed 2 a PS3 exclusive. :D

Sure, no problem :)
The music is amazing! Especially in surround sound. You can tell it has high production values.
Story, and the way it is told is very cool (has a moment a few missions in that really makes you think about your situation....which is a first for me). I like the narrator, makes everything feel extremely epic.
The levels are bloody huge.
There's a LOT going on in the levels.
....and now for a controversial comment....
I like the control scheme alot!! I'm not sure what the hell people were complaining about. It felt pretty responsive to me (maybe they added something to the UK release to make it feel better or something) Also, I play dogfights in Warhawk with the motion controls on and kick ass so this isn't much different :). You just need to think that the joypad in your hand acts like "reigns" on the dragon so you are not actually controlling the dragon directly, but the rider. I think there was only one level which I had problems with (so far lol) and it's the mission at night with tons of spotlights searching for you and I reckon that was only because I was too impatient. When I took my time, I was fine.
But what I like most about it is that I finally think I've actually played a "next-gen" game. It just feels different than most games I played (I'm comparing it too Drakenguard and Panzer Dragoon) I heard all the bad reviews but I only ever trust my own opinion in the end, which is why I like demos. In this case I took a risk as there were no demos.....but it paid off. It really belongs in my collection.
If you're just gonna rent it for 10 bucks, I'll say go for it. I bought it and I'm very happy.......but of course that's just my opinion :)

3.2 - As another crazy fool who love Lair, LeShin is bang on!
It's not a perfect game, but it didn't deserve all the fuss about it. Only one thing to add to LeShin perfect description: It's also a great game to have on your shelf for those people who are not gamers. I've seen pretty young players doing very well with it (much better than some reviewers I guess!). I've also seen some of my friends who hate consoles because they cannot stand the controllers (you know the type that won't play if it's not with a mouse and keyboard?) absolutely enjoying it and sadly, hugging my PS3 for hours... Trust me, don't spend money renting it. Buy it (maybe on Ebay) and then if you ever don't like it, sell it back. If you rent it, you may have a hard time taking it back to the store : )

4 - Rumble fix?????
I hope they fixed the Rumble support in the patch. I have only noticed my Dualshock 3controller rumble when you block a sword attack from a fight with an armed guard.

Mitchel, I'll answer that for him. Lair is good for many reasons. It's so much more than what you've heard or are use to hearing about. Graphically, the game is amazing. The texture detail and level of overall detail in the worlds are second to none! The games concept is awesome, but only does it shine when you get about 3 hours into the game and realise what your apart of.
The game controls are spot on! Don't let anyone tell you how bad they are until you try them yourself. The game controls like a dream for me and I had not 1 issue with it at all. It's just that indepth. It easily eclipses anything on the wii that uses the same scheme. Now, you can say well why would I buy Lair over this game or that game..??? Well, you might not... Lair isn't going to be for everyone and it certainly isn't going to be for you if you don't have an opinion of your own.
Simple as that.
Lair does way more right than it does wrong. The ground combat, the expansive list of arial moves and grapples are many and look incredibly cool. The lighting is spot on.
Anyone who says lair out and out sucks... A) hasn't played it B) has no opinion of their own C) was too busy with other games to bother with it.
Lair isn't the game you buy expecting this or that... It's the game you buy with no expectations and are then amazed at how good it really was and how underappreciated it really is.
Buy it, rent it whatever... I'm not going to tell you to spend 60 on it... I'm just telling you to play it for yourself, man. It's a helluva trip.

Ya I really enjoy LAIR
imo the jaggies and frame drops were only slightly worst than the 360version of Oblivion. Nothing that took away significantly form the experience. The controls are intuative enough and help connect you even more to the dragon you command. Going form the air to the ground seamlessly is amazing has are soem of the enemies and levels..
Not a perfect game but still a unique and inspiring experience for all those dragon lovers out there.
Now Im praying for a new version of Draken that was the best dragon game of all time!

I have a quick question about Lair. The 180 degree turns is a sharp movement upward am I right and would the movement in Folklore to absorb souls be the same.
I plan to get the game after Christmas

More or less, yes... Think of controlling Lair like you would a horse. Hold the control like reins, basically. You wanna turn around? Well, flick the controller up, as if you're holding reins. Wanna go fasteR? Push it down and up < not like that, though.
As for Folklore, yes and no. You have to push a button to steal a soul, but you do whip the controller up to yank it out of it. In my opinion, Folklore uses motion control very well. Very subtle and very rewarding.

i agree it's certainly a game every ps3 owner should experience for themselves and make there own mind up as it's certainly not as bad or flawed as many would have you believe.
From my own perspective i found it a game i could play for about an hour in any one sitting more than that and it started to feel repetative
it's a good game tho
also good news about the Assassins Creed patch

6.6 - Thank you LeShin, gamesblow, and games R4fun
If it goes on sale, consider it bought. But once I'm done Uncharted and some more story in Oblivion I'll definitely rent it.
I like user input more than "professional" reviews because there's zero chance you're getting paid for your word. It's all your true opinion. So I will ignore the reviews for the most part and I'll check it out, because it was a purchase to me until the reviews came around.
And being tight on money at the time, I had to heed their words carefully. So thanks again dudes.
And why are PS3 gamers so much nicer than 360 gamers?

7 - Well this is good.
I haven't played AC for a few days but not because of freezing. I just got Warhawk back from a buddy and have been trying to up my rank (seeing as how the patch fixed the ranks among other things) and I can't wait for the Warhawk expansion and the v1.2 patch.AC was freezing a little bit with me but when it froze I'd restart the game and it wouldn't freeze any more. This patch should keep it from freezing at all now though.

I'm in the UK and the patch is indeed out (v 1.10), and it's 25mb. Too soon to tell if it's fixed the freezing issue (it's only frozen a couple of times for me). Everything else seems to be the same, no enhancements to force feedback I'm afraid. Oh wells :)
