yeah the ps3 themes are awesome. and i dont know if the editor knows this but with most themes the wallpaper changes every time you exit a game or turn on your ps3. its wicked cool. and wow i cant believe microsoft would try to SELL themes. i mean wtf theyre themes lol greedy fu*king douche bags.

I didn't know MS charged for the themes. Dont' they offer some themes for free as well? At least your still able to make your own on the 360.

There are some pretty awesome PS3 themes out there start downloading them if you haven't already. I really like the openess of the PS3 system. It really makes it feel like it's your own like a PC.

I use both my game systems for PLAYING games..Yes themes are nice but come on.....Now we are comparing Themes... Pretty sad...
If thats the case My controller is bigger and heavier than yours.....

Yes Ms Does charge for themes..It's your choice if it means that much to you then you can purchase them if not then you dont...Also most TV,movies,etc themes are free from MS...

That is why I sold my 360 I got tired of being charged for XBL and I didn't want it to break down on me again. I don't understand why MS has to charge for every little thing on XBL but you know what it's not my problem anymore. I'm very happy with buying a PS3, I have nothing to worry about hardware wise and there a ton of great games to play. But the thing that made me go back to SONY(I wish I never bought a 360 to begin with) is that PSN is free. So yea you get alot just for free and that's why I've always been on SONY's side because they know how to treat their consumers very well.

Sony supplies the tools obviously but where does the content come from? Sony supplied or can you import your own stuff? If you could import your own photos and stuff that would be pretty cool.

just google "making ps3 themes" or something, all the software is easily avaliable for free.

As far as i know, yes you can import pretty much an image you like as long as the playstation can read that file type, and if it cant just save it as another file type, easy! hope that helped.

You could not just agree and say yes ps3 (now) has a better dashboard custamization or what ever. No you had to go and start talkin crap about the other console. And for the record millions of gamers understand why MS charges for XBOX LIVE. If you truly had 1 then you would know. The experience is amazing compared to the sony service. It's like night and day. I wont get into all the things that make XBOX LIVE an amazing service because it would take to much time.

Actually, I am an Xbox owner and I believe that Sony does win in this respect. The instant that they allow a user to put their own content in their menu, they win.

Microsoft not only will not allow you to create your own content but they charge for themes that are little more than advertisements.

not about changing 3-4 discs(pastgen thing),
not about little worlds, limited with dvd capacity,
not about paying for online gaming,
not about microtransactions and DLC, which should be already been in game.

sony dont appear quite a greedy as M$. They also release all the software needed to create your own theme (FREE of course) so if sony ever started charging for them, someone would make an exact copy and stick it on the net (infact generally i found some user generated ones online are already better than an offical offerings).

Are for advertisements. Any others that are free are crap and you know it. The PS3 theme software and ability to get hundreds if not thousands of FREE themes is by far the bet of any console.

I just love the XMB, I was already used to using it extensively for the PSP and now the PS3. It just works, and the themes are pretty sweet too WHEN DONE CORRECTLY. They probably have to reduce that ram footprint some more before allowing us to use animated themes and backgrounds though. The Dashboard is awesome too, I remember when I first got my 360 I was playing around in it for a while before starting a game, it just needs to more customization features. Stop making those dumbass faceplates and throw that energy into letting users configure the Dashboard.

i cant ever see M$ allowing you to create your own, unless its very basic, maybe allowing background pics on each blade or something. they seem very negative towards the idea of allowing people to mess around with their console to much.

EDIT: good idea man, id love to see more variaty in the visualizations department, i to use my ps3 for music (same reasons as you listed). Even though i have a very nice quality CD player, admittidly a few years old now but it was the Nuts but i still seem to get a nicer quality audio out of the playstation, plus you get the nice fancy graphics on the screen, its win win.

I think they already allow you to put your own pic on the background, my friend has Borat on all of his blades. But outside of that, you're right they don't let you tinker with it. I hope Sony has something down the pipeline for more visualizations in audio, they look cool for when I do use them when cleaning up the house, parties, etc.

The Xbox 360, as well as being the best selling next-console and leading the market for delivering exciting brand new entertainment to consumers all over the world, also manages to impress its users even further by giving them the option to customise their console like no other to suit their favourite games and characters. Sony gives you inferior background images, but Microsoft offer their fans superior dynamic themes with spectacular graphics to continue the joy they've given to millions of users.

Why make your own infinite themes and start a community based on that, when you can pay for a theme of an image of the best selling next-gen Halo 3 for a few dollars?
