Mark is such a genuine guy. He's a class act and a tough act to follow. He's got a great way of being incredibly fair to any given situation and he always gives balance to every topic. When people wanna bash the ps3, he's right there with an incredible argument in rebuttal.

Is it just me or does it seem like when the BS guy is asking him about the user created content that he is a little slow on the uptake? I can picture Mark Rein trying to talk slower and slower until he understands the words that are coming out of his mouth.

I told that jackass that they weren't charging for mods on PS3 and he didn't listen. Yay Epic!! UT3 is going to have a very long life on the PS3 now for that. This is real user created content, not some fake ass "rotate garbage cans and change placement of items in a static map" feature. Now all Sony needs to do is get the ads in order, I've yet to see something like the Gears of War Mad World (loved that song for years) trailer.

Mark Rein is awesome. I like how he states his opinion about how the ps3 is a bluray player and consumer would eventually buy games for it when seeing a new game advertisement. Mark Rein is great guy! sandip787 I agree with your comments about Gabe Newell. Gabe Newell is fat because he's lazy. He saying that the ps3 is complicated to algorithm and code because of the cell/RSX

Im just bringing facts..and no not all games on xbox 360 are spotless but I dont see no reports of missing ranks either...skerj was the one claiming the ps3 version of ut3 will run hitch free and lag free and im just being skeptical so I brought up some examples of how games people claim are flawless are flawed..dont like it put me on ignore kid.

didnt warhawk have the same ranking problems....hell without that patch right...you people are just to sensitive with your console..cant take facts..well too bad..the ps3 has more problems then the xbox 360 and Its well documented...you guys cant take facts and try too say its just bashing..

and no its not my job too say bad sheit about the ps3...give me a example on something bad on the xbox so i can comment on it cheezy...if you look at my original post i didnt say nothing until skerj commented..so go too work and dont put too much salt on the fries...

you want me too denounce xbox..ok..halo 3 single player sucks..mass effects textures are terrible and i have crashed once...I have had 3 rrod with 2 xboxes...you happy now?

sorry skerj but im not convinced until we get no reports of lag online and smooth gameplay...call me crazy but recent problems with assassins creed and pes08 and all the news recently make me skeptical..

Now that the engine is done, Gears SO could be done on PS3. There is nothing graphically done in Gears that isn't in UT3 which to be honest the humans look more organic in UT3 than they did in Gears. And the gameplay wasn't THAT deep, alas it's not going to happen unless someone decides to import gears maps from the PC Gears into the UT3 version of UnrealEd and export them to PS3 and use unrealscript to do the rest.

@Edit:

Hah you're using AC and PES as examples? The Devs of both games have stated that the games are buggy. I can personally confirm AC is screwed up on both systems, and PES has patches for BOTH systems. I have no doubt in my mind that UT3 will run hitch and lag free on PS3+PSN, in addition to that we get to play on dedicated servers.

Thats a GREAT idea Skerj! Gears on PS3.

I just hope they let the PS3 do more than just the four on four multi player and single player for that matter. There is never more than four enemies on the screen at one time from what I saw except for bats.

And stop trying to denounce the PS3 as if it's your job, because that's ALL YOU EVER DO ON THIS WEBSITE. Don't you ever have anything positive to say? I have COD4 and you cannot honestly tell me that every single one of your Live matches are without lag as well. That's preposterous.

Just relax and go enjoy your 360 or something. I can't enjoy one single story here and read some comments from fellow PS3 owners without having to sift through crap like this.

12.4 - That's funny because...

Warhawk has no problems with lag or warping or anything unless you're playing on a crap server that has a crap connection. If that's the case then just move on over to a Sony server. Sure they had problems with rank resetting and such but it turned out that it was a software problem and not a hardware problem because they released a patch that fixed those problems. You can't release a patch for hardware problems.

I don't know if this is Mark Rein's plan or someone else over there at Epic but they are essentially forcing Microsoft's hand in the situation here.

"CN: You're saying that Sony understands and they're really into it. This isn't going to be happening down the road on the 360 version, will it? Or can it?

MR: We'd like to. That's one of the challenges in figuring out how to bring this game to the 360. Right now, Xbox Live is a closed system, so when we finish the PC and the PS3 one and maybe take a little break for Thanksgiving and Christmas, we will sit down with Microsoft and have a dialogue with them and say, "Here is what we want to do. How can we do it?" They may or may not embrace it. We don't know. That's why we've made the game for the PlayStation 3 first, because we knew exactly what the boundaries were going to be."

They are trying to force Microsoft into allowing the user created content without some sort of certification process by saying "Look, Sony let us do it and they've got our game running on their system. If you really want our game on your system then you should offer us the same services or else this is going to look really bad for you guys."

This game will do what Gears did for xbox 360 pretty much. It takes an advantage everything the ps3 owners can expect from ps3 games and because of the terrible orange box port this game will sell even better. And with all this praising Rein is doing and less complaining for ps3, 360 and PC it makes him look good on his part unlike the other complaining devs.

Very, very good interview. I for one, am excited by the possibility of mods with UT3 on the PS3. I am a bit disappointed that Valve/EA didn't follow Epic's example and allow Orange Box to be moddable. Using the portal gun in Half-Life 2 has got to be one of the coolest mods out there.
