IGN Reviews Soldier of Fortune: Payback (PS3)

IGN writes:

"Soldier of Fortune: Payback has one thing going for it: excessive dismemberment. Everything else is standard stuff for a shooter. Yet, I must admit, that I get a guilty pleasure playing Payback. Though it's not a good game, it's still fun to see body parts fly. If that doesn't interest you, there is an option to turn down the gore. That, however, takes away the only interesting thing Solider of Fortune: Payback has to offer."

Payback is utterly pathetic compared to SoF1 and 2. The first two were made by Raven and were excellent games; Payback, which shouldn't even be considered a Soldier of Fortune game as it started out as a different game, is made by some budget Activision studio.

No, sadly it's not made by Raven software. They now work on Marvel games and SoF3 was made by Activision Value and it was supposed to be a budget title. Sadly, Activision got greedy in the process and you know the rest.

I tried playing SoF 1 and really liked it! That was my first FPS since Quake2 (Doom2 was my best exp in these series) that I played and this one I fell for.

5 - Why Do People Buy The PS3?

This is another example of how foolish it is to buy a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360. The PS3 has framerate problems not present on the Xbox 360 version. Where have we heard that before? If you play it on the Xbox 360, not only do you get a better game, but you get achievements to boot. This is why the PS3 is failing.

got it for rental, after 30 minutes it is trying to rip-off cod4, with the modern warfare thing, multiple locations, hell even controls, damn even that right stick click to use ammo, but is worse on every aspect, my
opinion? it looks like the very first build of the cod4, not even pre pre-alpha
