first thing first, it is a European ad, not just UK.

Secondly, as a Brit, i found this ad funny. But still i prefer the US version.

BTW: here in UK, Sony did a good job advertising on billboards.

One of them shows a huge duststorm coming. Its slogan is "expects the force" or something like that. I love it.

Its weird but I still quite like it, mostly due to the huge moustaches.

The big triumph of the Wii is that its ads show people actually playing and enjoying games, seems bizarre that Sony go to any lengths to avoid showing people actually using the console. That said, abstract adverts seem to work well for Sony, just look at the popularity and success of the Bravia paint adverts and the ones with rabbits.

lol that is just a bad commercial. They made a commercial that doesnt promote their product at all. I bet parents are going to rush out and buy the console after looking at that odd commercial /end sarcasm.

Get real sony. Apparently some people forgot what advertising was all about: Promotion of your product in a positive light.

First of this is EU commercial and second, its not new i saw it on tv over a week ago. ive seen one commercial i like in EU, and thats when they show Heavelny sword, ratchet,and uncharted, and the they say This is living i love that commercial^^

the add is ridiculous, in what way does that advertise a games console to the general public. it does have a weird kind of appeal but maybe not for the right reasons

i doubt that add is going to say to anyone i must go to Gamestation and buy a ps3, on the other hand it might say i must watch a cowboy film about general custer

I didn't like the one with just the guy with the dog in butr this with different parts and it explains about PS3 is much better...

Mostly ads I have seen lately have been ratchet and Clank plus Heavly Sword quite often and at good slots, i cant wait for an uncharted one...

I really like it. Historically, Sony never really advertised games when advertising the PlayStation. It would always be this abstract surreal compilation of players.

i really like it too. i know its strange, but it shows the many faces of the ps3 in a very artistic way. the part with the woman that turns from a robot or something into a human is really nice. seen it on tv here and it really makes u watch it. its like you want to find out what the advert is about, and thats the point of it anyways.

But yeah i prefer the US ones but these are typically more european adverts. It would be unusual to see a PS3 US type advert for anything down here.

Sony really oughta get a better advertiser in EU. Sure, Europeans do have a different sense of humor than we Americans do. They should get some Monty Python + PS3 commercials in there :D!! Possibly some Benny Hill kinda thing going on. But meh, what do I know? I'm only 15 >.>.

Of course, in the US they should say "If you don't buy a PS3 this holiday season, that means you support George W. Bush." :D that oughta get consoles going, knowing how idiotic and gullible some of us Americans are >.>.

Also, the add plays on notions contained in a popular comedy act called the Monty Python or something like that....it is a brit thing and it is directed at older demographic. Seriously I wonder how some of you bash Sony for the art direction they take in their commercials without knowing anything about the region's culture. There is a reason why you are not the ones getting hired to run their campaign ;)

I've seen this commercial several times and downloaded it from PSN. I was sceptical at first but, actually it is very well done. If you see it in HD you will understand what it is about. Its a great commercial.

god all of ya are soo inconsiderate. this is soosmart from sony, that commercial is for UK. that would catch ppls attention over there but not here. over there it would. did u remember the renassaince? a movement in arts and plays? well it happened over there in europe. there fore it would attract people over there..here in the states...we like more action and entertainment n thats why they gave ups the action commercial. dont u noticed that most movies are action movies here compared to the movie releases in japan or other country. and our shows and tv spots are more entertaining than in other places of the world.its all catching peoples attention.

We're getting this arty farty queer-as ads in New Zealand as well but worse:
they are only showing 10 sec snippets from the full ad and then end with 'This is Living.' You can only say WTF when you see those POS ads.

But at least the Europeans get the full ad with voice over.

I miss the HIP and quirky Ps2 ads or yesteryear. Bring the them back, PLZ. If it aint broke then....

Sony has to trash the Advertising Agency they're with. They've clearly never played a video game in their life....or worst still, undercover fanboys...of another console lol.
