Call of Duty 4 Busts Out Funny Arabic Mistakes

"Arabic is read right to left, but many of the in-game Arabic signs have been mirrored right to left so they come out backwards, funny and strange to native speakers. As Hatem points out, almost all the letters in Arabic connect. More often than not, the in-game signs feature Arabic letters that don't connect, changing meaning."

COD4 is a WAR game .... the scenarios in the game are very realistic in modern day circumstances.

Regardless of who the bad guys are they can not be made out to be nicey nicey, otherwise it wouldnt be a war game, you would be playing out a massacre.

perhaps it's a rendering mistake. sometimes when hardware doesn't support a language fully it renders it's letters with strange effects like writing it backwards.

i'm sure ps3 hardware and 360 don't support Arabic. i have both systems and both PAL(European) and none of them had Arabic in their system menu.

and i finished the game!!
its good game but not more than 9/10!
and about the arabic.. well they always miss up in a bad way anything to do with arabs or arabic language!!
they used funny writing that makes no since!! and the way they speak is like alaldin evil arabs in that cartoon or something like that!!
they use weird voices and accents and dialogue!!
and thats stupid when al-sads launch a nuclear bomb in iraq!! not one will kill around 1 million just to kill few thousands of enemy soldiers!!
i enjoy the game but when i was killing the arabs i was imagining killing other evil country soldiers!

You know Its been about 7 days since I discovered this site. Now I browse it every day. I love everything about the site, even the fanboy arguments, except for one thing: Your comments.
I found out another thing about you from your own comments. You are an xbox 360 owner and you don't have a PS3. However when a PS3 title comes out, like Uncharted you jump on the line and always say that you played the game and hated it, how is that possible, you don't have a PS3 remember. You know you are not the only one that is racist against Arabs nowadays, but 20-30 years from now, we will all look at this days and say Jesus, that is just insanely stupid. Why not add an Abu Ghraib level where you get to play as an all American hero, dressing up civilians in sheets and letting your dogs bite them. Why not go a step further and actually torture them to death and have your photo taken with their corpses?

War makes people go insane to cope. Soldiers lose perspective of what's real and not. We are'nt meant to be in situations like that. More american soldiers die from suicide when they get back from Iraq than actually getting KIA.
